D. goel pkl. afternoon 4.15pm Friday , November 4, 2011. Thedetails may befrightening, buttheChinese arestill far away from complete domination of Space , Oceans orSkies. They are nevertheless bidding in all theseso far less successful domains. We hear that only in past ofcouple of days Space station uis gettingassembled. Only a third nation,to strive for such prominent proof of Star wars. They have tested Nukes thatshall reach farthest ends of Earth, soon. Of course nos of Aircrafts or Ocean faring deep submarines or Air-craft-Carriers or very much still in themarshalling yards oronly on drafting Boards. But given the Performative efficiency demonstrated in past generation it is likely thatChina would come up trumps in all these lacunae ,too. But can we in india ever dream to even seek Parity with the Dragon ? We Elephantine under performers ,all.D. Goel
is rediff trying to convey here..what is limitless..remember Soviet and US were both trounced by Afghans...which were nothing in comparison... a future full blown war can only be a war of attrition..and the winner will be the one who has the more desire to win... Nuclear device use has ceased to be an option.. The first Nuclear strike can only happen by accident and will ruin the originator more than the victim.
The need of the day is allowing private institutions to actively participate in Defense research and production. Or let DRDO. to work under armed force. Like any-other governmental institution do not believe in deadlines. regards
naval power is key ... china cannot move its land forces easily across its border with india .... not even division level operations possible in that terrain. chinese navy has grown enormously ...once they were nothing compared to us ....now they surpassed us ...

In modern nuclear war it hardly matters number of soldiers ! India's 1.3 million is enough when it has nuclear power ! And China should be aware of this. Now it is not 1960s when number and guns mattered. It is 21st century and India is a nuclear state now. So beware, China.
