Zorawar Singh (1786-1841) was a military general who conquered Ladakh and Baltistan in the and carried the Khalsa flag as far as the interior of Tibet.... In April 1841, by which time the conquest of Ladakh had been completed, he marched into Tibet at the head of a large army and within six months had conquered territory to the northwest of the Mayyum Pass... Zorawar Singh could get no reinforcements from Leh or from any other place as heavy snows had blocked all the passes. He fought many a pitched action in the vicinity of Lake Manasarovar and was killed in the last one of these on 12 December 1841. Although this great conqueror perished mid-campaign, his initiative did not go unrewarded...... In September 1842 a treaty was signed by representatives of the Chinese and Lhasa governments on the one hand and of the Khalsa Darbar and Gulab Singh on the other which extended the Sikh, and hence Indian, frontiers to their present international boundary. The whole of Ladakh thus became a part of the Indian territories......

1.76 lakh crore is notional loss. there was no corruption
We have the examples of "Battle of Saragarhi"... where 20 Soldiers prefer to fight against the army of more than 10,000, they all get martyred but also kill 100s of the enemy..... Also, we can't forget battles like of "Longewala" (Border movie)...... Jung chhati k jor se larhi jaati hai..... sirf hathyaron se nahi....... India need to teach ancient Sikh battles, they are example in themselve.... Check Battle of Saragarhi in Wikipedia...

Desi Jaat, my friend, that's the spirit, and every Indian will be standing with you in that eventuality, regardless whether he is from Kerala or Punjab. But, wars are fought to be won and martyrs won't help unless they are supported by the correct weapons. If you read the newspapers, there is a rapid depletion of our warfare capabilities. For instance, we haven't bought field guns since Bofors; our submarines are down to 12. So, we need to wake up and smell the coffee. Otherwise, it will be even worse than 1962, and our next generation will be speaking in Mandarin, instead of Punjabi or Tamil!

I agree with you regarding weapons... but don't worry my brother.. time will never come when India has to speak Mandarin or Cantonese instead of Punjabi, Hindi or Tamil... We the sons of soil are here to fight till our last breath...
China is increasing tie with old friend Pak; And USA now dont need any base against Russia so wants to cut off from Pakistan and moving towards India since they wanted to form a base against next to be super power China;
So basically INdia,Pak are toys of USA and China; They are using these countries for their supremacy;
there is a lesson we have to learn from china ..... that never ridicule your traditions and culture in the name of modernism ...some young eediotic chuuutiya kids feel its cool.
china is doing a great disservice to its ancient civilization by communism ...china was a land of faithful and innovators... unfortunate communists have turned it into a machine ....
communism will fall and china will rise to its past glory.... these communists want to compete with west... its not our oriental philosophy... hope they quit this track of confrontation with US and tend towards holistic development like japan

thats the mistake. ..stock markets are fictious and never to be trusted....
japan is still top on innovation ..they continuously produce best technology and there is nothing called downfall for such nations.... nations dont become powerful by stock market graphs or fictious economic development ...countries become powerful by innovation
I opine..China is sitting on fire...China has more number of army ppl...also a war between us is evident..we will fight back too....china will never go for a full fledged war that too is true....these communists are fooling their own ppl..such a huge army will get frustrated if they don't get some job (war)..Actually China is very much afraid of the new situations/agitations in other countries. to divert attention..they will attack us in a limited way..only upto Arunachal,Sikkim, Laddakh etc. And this war will cost China heavily irrespective of what they win or loose...and countdown starts like USSR....
