Tharoor who dared to think differently from the old horses that have been dragging the Indian democracy on rusted wheels is finally made the victim of their desire to hold on and not let the nation change fr the better. He will come back with a bang.

This idiot 'thinking differently' should have learnt from Rahul Gandhi as to how to conduct yourself maturely in politics.
Any man with loose pyjamas will meet the same fate. He put the credibility of his govt., his ministry and his own self on the block just for his lust for a socialite ! Shocking & disgusting to say the least.
Day one Tharoor was being sidelined; his standing and competence should have won a ministry with independent charge. That was denied.
What Tharoor did was repackaging Kerala and tried to invent its unexplored strengths and showed it to the world just as Kerala Tourism became an international brand.
Instead of becoming the captive lobbyisits for a select few unlike many other MPs, he ventured into new areas to rediscover the state as a Parliament Member from the state.
This is a setback surely; but he has the energy and talent to make a come back in many other areas. I have interviwed him for a foreign journal and I can vouch for that.
The Kochi IPL imbroglio does not end with Tharoor quitting; the entire IPL and its functioning needs a smart probe to alleviate the impression that it is a platform for money laundering and to defraud the innocent love for cricket by Indians.

His performace as the MoS in MEA itself is disgusting. How can you even suggest that we coudl handle an independent charge. Now, it appears as if his stint in Un was purely because of his links with the high and mighty, and not because of his competence.
his father was an IFS officer and new all the right people at right places to get him a job at UN. But sadly his stint as MoS in MEA has been lack lustre and even the diplomats under him were tired of his lack of seriousness in dealing with issues. His Officer on Special Duty has been a joke, and he and his OSD have spent more time tweeting about nonsense than going through official files.
This shows that a man should nto be judged by his looks, his comman over English or his media crafted image. Tharoor's is a classic case of a man with a specatalura image bu no substance in him.
I'm not sure why articles are not vetted by Rediff for proper content. This just seems to be a space filler , wasting everyones time who read it and who has written it.

Exactly! I can't believe this guy was advisor to PMO! All that comes through his article is his jealousy/superiority-complex/ignorance/grudge towards Keralites! Unbelievable that rediff published this article! 'Non-English-Speaking Mundu-clad'... What does he think! Mundu is something to be ashamed of? We are proud of of culture and our dress. If you view it as non-Indian, it is time for us to go the Kashmir way! This post is nothing better than the comments of a few hotheads posting in rediff forums!
This a good article. However, the connection of the Indian elite with the Gulf countries is different from those who go there in search of jobs as maids and mechanics. The Gulf has also become a free port for landing and laundering dirty and dubious money.
This message is one of the worst articles I have ever read on rediff. The writer seems to have not even made the effort of getting up from his chair to write this piece. A perfect example of armchair journalism. Please avoid encouraging such writers in the future.
This neither has the depth or the facts to comprise an article or Mr. Tharoor. Please avoid such baseless and flimsy articles if rediff is to be considered a serious news portal

You are absolutely right Arun. The author is an arm chair writer. He collated what he read recently. I spent close to 15 years in UAE as a moderatley high position in one of the biggest Arab Business Group.I visit UAE at least once an year where my expertise is sought and paid for.I could save over rupees ten million despite not holding the my income in an Arab bank.In 1981 a UAE Dhirham was Rs.2.50 and when I finally left it was Rs.12.76. I have no regrets of not holding the money there, and helped the Indian economy with my meagre savings. Shashi Taroor is a gentleman, suave, good looking, can talk sense, intelligent but does not act like an Indian Politician. He should have behaved a little stupid and little more dumber than he is. Well, Was he trying to be a Mayawati,Lalu, and Soren? I doubt.
