Post Rosa Parks, Luther King and affirmative action, we see a modicum of unity amongst the African Americans and the Caucasians. Post truth and reconciliation and downfall of apartheid, we see the Africans and the Boers living together without acrimony. Its only here post nearly a 100 years of reforms, reservations, equality, and upheavals and redistributions, we still seem to cannot get it right in terms of living at peace with caste or without caste in place. By 2020 at least, we should get our amity act together. Else, we would be the last infighting group left on plant Earth. I forsee even the Jews and Palestinians embracing each other by then, but our politicians will be the neocolonialists who would like our populace to be divided as Hindu/Muslim and then OBC, SC, ST .. AC/DC forever for them to lord over us.
It is very foolish idea that God is against human and God created the Cast. Also no religious system in India, even Hinduism, makes caste as a part of the religious system. Cast is part of a social system available in this part of continent, and GOD is alos part of social system, so,denouncing religion is only a coward and hippocratic act of Periyar and he was not a brave enough to face the social reality. His thought were always fascinated me but after studying the cast and religion I am exposed to the state of negation of Periyar. His fear turns him in an anti-god, anti-religion, and anti-hinduism. He was not good enough intelligent to differentiate between rituals and DHARMA, the religion and mis-interpreted both.

If Caste is not part of the religious system then why do the priests have to be Brahmins. It is very amusing to read that Periyar was coward. On the contrary it was the upper caste that were/are cowards in quick to label him. They knew he had Logic and Reasoning behind him and all these Upper castes had were superstitions and centuries of oppression of fellow human beings.

My dear,
fighting with wrong practises in a relihion or a society need you to be part of the same domain. People like Periyar just negated every thing and don't try to change the rong aspects and concepts off his society. Just to get away from a domain and then bleming every thing of that domain is only cowardiness. As in otherr societies there were many wrong things in Hindu society too, but you need to change them and that need a courage to fight with in it. Every priest was not Brahmin, there are many examples where priests and kings wre of so called lower cast. Kind Abhik who surrender to Alexendar against Porus was a Barbar by cast. Even chandragupta was of lower cast and Saint Raidaas waqs a shoe-maker.
In fact those who learned and practise rituals called Brahmins, not all Purohits were Brahmnis.
British found an oppurtinist in Naicker, they convinced him that the aryans were the first colonizers, not the british.
The opposition of individual voice was silenced by the british power, thus Brahmins were reduced to aryan objects, the philosophy of India was reduced to tell of a migration.

Dravidian Philosophy is limited to Tamilnadu alone...we can understand that the extremists like tamilians can only follow such baseless philosophies...It was Indians who navigated to different parts of world, out of which the zorastrians led to the formation of different culture, not the other way around...These people blame Brahmin's for every problem...Beacause, Brahmin's lived majorly in cities and were less inclined to farming, the obvious choice would to study and get job in private and governmental institution...these people think as though Brahmin's took away their job...why not reserve farmlands for Brahmin's?....what the hell were other caste people( especially OBC, who are responsible for beating and torch-uring of SC/St's) doing when the Brahmin's were having the monopoly?( If at all assumed to be)

British already had lot of oppurtunistic Brahmins in their ranks. The Aryan theory was mostly bought and still believed by the Brahmins, who somehow think high of the Whites and like to think themselves as descendants of the great white race.

The tamil nationalism, synonomous with dravidian racism and some sort of national socialistic tamil cult has been created by british.

It is the other way around actually. Every so called Saint turns out to be a Criminal. Kanchi Matt is a Prime example.
Read this with a mature, open mind. We are one and always will be one. http://www.stephen-knapp.com/death_of_the_aryan_invasion_theory.htm
Let us not let ignorant, narrow-minded politicians misguide us. (themselves misguided by British).
Historically (1800s, early 1900s) reforms have been carried out in Hinduism by (upper caste) Hindu. (arya, brahmo samaj) and like we resolved dowry, etc we can also resolves casteism by rural social awareness programs. Lets update our knowledge by reading more articles before making comments based on what we hear from our history books(mostly dictated by british).
