Martin Luther King, a greater leader for blacks in America. You know, before Martin luther king, blacks were treated as a third grade people by white christians. Those white christians treasted thse blacks as slaves. White chriastian bring them from african countries when evaded those countries, and made them slaves. These black salves position was worst than so called dalits in india, even in some ways dalits position is better in india. These blacks were taken from their country to america or briton or some other white christians countries, but no one black has lost faith on christianity. Under the great Martin Luther King, they had fought withe white christians for equality, not against religion. No one black has changed their religion even though they were descriminated by white christians. Without changing RELIGION or CRITISIZING CHRISTIANISM, blacks were FOUGHT with white and now see the position, blacks are getting as much opportunities as like whites.
But what this periyar had done, for getting name, he had critized hinduism. He told he was against religion, but was never dare to critisize other religions, because he will definitely killed by other religions, because he know, hindus will not do any harm. In directly, his actions lead to RELIGION CONVERSTION. These christians never told their loop holes, they are busy in searching loop holes in hindusim, and spreading anti-hinduism.
So, in my view Martin Luther King is great person who fought with whites but not critisize the cultures, than this Periyar, who has the only work to critisize hindisum.
So, I request every one to not change from hindu religion to other religion. Every religion has it's own loop holes and every religion is good as per hindu phylosophy. And those who had already changed religion on the basis of cast descrimination, i request them see the fact, what cristians are doing and how the original christinas are doing worst things agains innosent muslims on the name of terrorism, how these christians are behaving wiht innocent irani soldeirs in Guantenamo Bay, so, i request them turn back to hindusm, and fought with them who are descrimination you on the name of cast. If these upper case people now also decrimination, kill them, but do not change the religion. After all, it is our country, our culture. our religion.

Abe kumar bewakoof, in US the discrimination was based on color of skin and not on religion that is why religion did not got blamed while this caste system in Hinduism is totally outcome of religious biased and hence it is always been in question.
From the article, it looks like brahmins occupied most of the Govt. posts in early 1900s - It is well known now, how much corruption has crept into the Govt. offices. Maybe bringing back the brahmins to these offices would be a great idea. This could probably ensure that Govt. offices function smooth and corruption free - even benefiting the so-called "lower castes" much better than at present - Especially since social stigma(ta) such as untouchability and other ills have been more or less eliminated ...

All these jokers are againts brahmins and high level peoples becos of jealous not for any social interest. This periyar married at 70 and Ambedhkar married brahimn girl, so this is their social reform... these stupid politicians cannot tolerate of brahmin's growth. Once they get sick then why taking treatment from top doctors(mostly brahmins) these are all cheating the peoples.
Note: I am from backward community but againsts this stupid leaders.. everything is selfishness..

I am not a Brahmin but I am trying to become Brahmin. How they got good reputation? They have learnt Veda so they adopt many good things from Veda. This is a truth. Politicians want vote. Actually, they don%u2019t want to uplift lower castes. Many lower castes convert to other religion after conversion they got better reputation because they have start learning holy books and they adopt many good things. So we should learn Bhagawat Gita and adopt good things then we will get good reputation. Anybody can become Brahmin 1. Early get up morning and take bath every day 2. Learn Bagawat gita. 3. Avoid non-vegetarian food. 4. Avoid alchohol If we follow these things definitely we can get good reputation in our society. Reservation is not solution for uplifting us. Knowledge is power.

How do you know all the Brahmins follow these strictly. Anyhow one need to be Brahmin to have reputation.
We can cry, shout but no one going to listen. Its our life , so we have to strive hard and lead a better life. This is a price one has to pay being born as Indian.
Periyar was a rich guy who eliminated to vow the brahmins just because he was denied food at Kashi because he was not a brahmin, so much for a great and original social thinker he he. Same pattern as with other despots like Stalin(no wonder he was influenced by Stalin a mass-murderer).

Chanakya vowed to destroy the Nanda dynasty just because he was insulted by the King. So, that's another example you forget. Was chanakya not an original thinker? Gandhi revolted against the british only after he was thrown out of a train. Before that he was a lawyer, educated and practising law in England. I dont know Ramaswamy's ideology and am sure he was responsible in part for the North vs south divide, but everything has an origin. I guess this was the proverbial last straw that broke the camel's back!
At the outset let me make it clear im not a brahmin. All that he has done is to demolish a 10000 year old harmonious culture into bits and pieces. The same tamil literature even about 1000 years ago clearly shows caste was not a determining factor in the functions done by a individual. On the other hand while the britishers followed the divide and rule, people E.V.Ramaswamy knowingly or unknowingly played into their hands. A known playboy during his youth, he wanted the worldly pleasures throughout his life, what better way than to hypnotise the illiterate people. The easiest way was to attack the numerically weaker brahmins and gain political greatness. For 2 generation of people he might have been god, but im sure the next generation has it moves outside tamilnadu for their livelihood will notice the tomfoolery of the dravidian parties which was founded by E.V.Ramaswamy. Not the fact while he created a mass hysteria against the so called casteist practices of the brahmins, he never renounced the caste tag in his name. Someone here commented, tamil wouldnt have survived but for him, i only pity his ignorance, no language or culture can die on its own if it has a standing of its own, it could die if it is a parasite on some other root language. Anyway the tamil fanatism has not led all tamil youth to eternal prosperity, when they move out of tamil nadu for their jobs, one must see the pain in the faces of the young boys and girls when they feel incompetent to express themselves in english while their contemporaries who may be less talented walk away with glories just because of their better expressing capablities. Revolutions do happen in 2 ways. One is when a mass hypnotic leader mesmerises the populace, the other is when the populace gets frustrated and goes out to throw lock, stock and barrel the conditions responsible for their state. Tamil nadu has been seeing the first for the last 60 years, maybe the day is not far off for the second type of revolution to occur.

Just check out the number of emigres suffering like in malaysia and in gulf.Hope you will at least a tear in ur heart for these poor souls. Emigration is not based on the level of english, emigration is based on the need to satisfy the basic human needs of food, water and shelter. When that is lacking in one's own native land, survival instincts take over and come what may one goes beyond shores even if it is a illusory mirage. Sitting in cosy AC rooms in chennai you wouldnt understand the sufferings of the tamils of bombay in 60's and 70's nor of the tamils in karnataka in 80's and 90's. And these tamils are not i repeat not forward caste/forward class, but people on the fringes of social/economic status.

My friend, your reply is proof of what english is being spoken off, translating tamil verbatim into english is not english "Venture into vomiting your stuff". The way that has to be said is spat out not vomiting, the same holds good when a candidate in a interview says "ion's matter are plasma" got my point. Its not to say everyone from tamil nadu is bad or ppl from other states are better, Its just to say the level that has gone down post 1967. Prior to 1967 the tamils and bengalees occupied more than 70% of IAS positions, check out for yourself the present day percentage for tamils and the reasons for the same. No amount of mudslinging on cyberspace is going to change the facts on ground.

anti hindi feelings created by politicians in tamil nadu is also not good. though english is the language of business, hindi and not english, is understood by the common man in urban areas of all north, west and eastern states. blind hatred created against hindi does not help the people, who have to go out of south india. because u have to interact with common people also, including peons in the offices.
Periyar (calling him that is obnoxious) was an uncouth hypocrite who had Hindu bashing as his only ideal. He is responsible for the vote bank politics that is ravaging the nation and keeping it underdeveloped. He did not change the status of anybody for the better.Thankfully most of his obnoxious ideas are dying out if not dead.
Started as educationist but finally became entertainer. He is good joker. History says he went and asked British government to rule Tamil Nadu after independence. Hope all these will in that movie.

If BC SC ST think that they are equal to uppercaste , so why they need resservation for everthing they donot have enough courage knowledge to prove themself or they are really inferior.
