there is no doubt about his patriotism
by Ravi on Mar 04, 2003 04:28 PM

there is no doubt about his patriotism. he just wanted to get out of the andaman jail by 'any' means which is justified considering the fact that he was transported for 50 years. also he was not provided the luxuries (not even pen and paper...he wrote poems on the walls!) like other political prisoners of congress. inspite of his personal opinion regarding a hindu rashtra, he strictly opposed partition. it is because of nehru and congress that partition took place. i dont know why these people are bent upon spoiling his image while their own patriotic credentials are doubtful (communists welcoming chinese invasion! gandhi refusing to sign the mercy petition of bhagat singh! communists' historical blunder of not recognising/respecting subhash chandra bose etc).

Savarkar cannot be a role model

You cannot forcely imbibe a idealogy into a person. Since we know the suppressed history written by our marxist historians has taken us miles from the truth. Keeping this in mind, we can hardly tell how much truth is in this article. Even a common man with good qualities can be your role model. Then why not savarkar who had the gut to tell what he felt at that time was right

having a ball at the cost of a national hero
by VIKRAM on Mar 04, 2003 03:34 PM

These people have developed habit of getting cheap publicity by making a mockery out of our national heroes we should not encourage such kind of people they should be stripped of their Indian Nationality and sent through the same treatment that Sri Savarkarji had undergone

I ,do not want to encourage all these things by discussing anything more about it.

rather than commenting on this story, i cannot help myself from ridiculing what this socalled big historian is writing. Because of all the socalled leftists(infact pseudo secularists), west bengal now has become a heaven for illegally over staying Bangladeshis and is creating major changes in demography and creating law and order problems. When every country is trying their best to protect it's borders, unfortunately these leftists for their socalled secularism has made WB a heaven for terrorists. These corrupt politicians can do anything for power. Jyothi Basu must be posecuted for whatever the problem with illegal Bangladeshis in WB. It is just his vote bank policy to allow Bangladeshis into Indian territory. Now the headache of deporting them back is next govts/BJP at the centre. One cannot see this kind of selfishness, any part of the world.

savarkar...
by Praveen on Mar 04, 2003 03:01 PM

This article is absolute insult to all indians.very few people are aware of that Savarkar died in ealy sixties and wasleading a vitually house arrest life in free india...

How can we just ignore the efforts for freedum sturuggle of such a great person..It was just because Nehru's doctrine did not have place like or he was a bit apprehensive about his popularity see so called secularist how Kashmir is burning (again credit goes to nehru n Gandhin others)

At least if we can't appreciate his effort we should not criticise him ....
