Ok so Hritik and Aish essay their roles very well - but the whole bloody movie is like on one set - and the surroundings dark and dismal. Movie lacks something for sure. I prefer SLB's Devdas. Period. Guzaarish is no classic.

junta's verdict is the barometer of a film's success - if a film fails at the box office that means it is a piece of junk. Raavan , Action Replay and Guzaarish are all pieces of junk. It is a pity because there is nothing wrong with the acting by the leads but because there are many flaws within the movie and it is the directors fault.

By that barometer, 'Jai Santoshi Ma' is one of the greatest films of all time. Some standard.

so you mean films like swades, lakshya & omkara are all pieces of junk while rubbish like dhoom-2,OSO,ghajini and dabangg are all time classics??

swades, lakshya and omkara rubbish?? and ghajini a nice film?? haha!! i lost count of the no. of loopholes in that so called "classic".
Just because a movie is boring and is completely self serving, it does not make it a classic. Mera Naam Joker flopped because its format was radically different at that time with multiple stories in one movie and no clear-cut main heroine. Kaagaz Ke Phool flopped because it was too depressing but the movie was an original work of Guru Dutt with his own life story. In case of Guzaarish, the story is lifted from another movie, the protagonist is not facing the real conditions as in India (instead of that it is a make believe world which is actually Spanish), the director is a very poor director who gets lost in colorful sets, the actors are ok (Hrithik is good, Aishwarya is third rate), their make-up and sets are not even life like (why would a nurse be wearing so red lipstick with Victorian skirt in today's age?). I can go on and on. It is idiotic to put Guzaarish in the same league of those movies. Guzaarish is in the league of 90% of bollywood's other movies which do not even get to move to second week, all due to the poor direction & acting.

There was an article in rediff, that said India is a capital for spine injuries and such conditions. So I don't think it is alien concept. You may be right on your other points.

- Well, it really does not matter. For him it's same... portugese or spanish... goan or punjabi or gujrati... for him it's all same

you are absolutely right! I am not going to see this movie. After reading the review this movie is no where neaer the 3 movies mentioned.
I saw the movie today ... It's absolutely brilliant considering the nature of the subject of euthansia or mercy killing ...Since Hrithik the main hero of the film is shown as a handicapped person who cannot even feel whether he has passed stool or urine, it seems to be depressing ..that's all !! People should learn to appreciate all kinds of cinema ..
its best ever movie in last 30 years , say it performance , direction , edititing , songs . it is a movie for matured & literate audiance. I hope people will like it . great job Mr Bansali & hritik
serious and horror movies will never make bussiness as the taste of people has changed comedy and action.infact action replay n guzarish were carefully coreographed, edited movie. wanted was better made than dabangg, ghajani was tense.kites was nicely done and dont look like tv serial which often is seen in many movies.hollywood is also not exception where twilight made more money than inception which was as good as avatar.anjaana anjani was good and was full of fun n exciting to watch till end but didnt work at BO.lets see break ke baad is not like love aaj kaal or i hate luv storys. goodluck bollywood.atlast audience is not mature for sure
It's disappointing that Guzaarish is nothing but a shoddy remake of a brilliant masterpiece "The Sea Inside", which itself is based on a true story of a Spaniard. Hrithik will have to look towards the performance of Javier Bardem. There can of course be no comparison between this and Kagaz ke Phool. Just the play of lighting in the movie is vast superior to this movie.
are never going to be remembered for long; Days are gone when some movies use to remain public delights for months and year; Now a days even a block buster super hit movies comes down from cinema within couple of months
