Kajol is ahead of MAdhuri? And there is no place of Rekha and Hema malini? It shows u just woke after a kumbhakarna_nidra. Grow up dude, when we are talking about all time actress, Kajol won't even come in top 20.

i wrote wht i hv observed after watching 1000's of movies n if u think that kajol is not even among top 20 n then u shud wake up frm kumbhakarna_nidra.

Ohh, that means u ve watched 1000 movies in your life time. Gr8, and could you please let us know how many movies in between 1990 to 2010? Believe your 70% movies will come in this period, that is why your memory struck with Kajol with ahead of MAdhuri and forget Rekha and Hema in the top 10 list.. lol

n rekha, sridevi, hema, dimple r also great actresses bt acc to me they fit in to 11 to 15 position.

My Dear Kapil sir and Inderpreet.. I did not mean that Kajol is not a great actress.. What I mean is in today's movies you will find hardly any movie left where an actress has a memorable role cause now most of movies in last 20 years are men centric, which you should not compare with old movies. Those time where actress had significant roles in each and every movie. According to me Kajol is the best actress in current generation followed by Konkona Sengupta then Rani Mukherjee. But, when you compare with old movies these actress have very less opportunities to show their talent due to script writing, which men centric.
Anyway, no argument.. I had left 6th position to be fill up, then here you go.. Kajol comes .. in the list.. Cheers ;)

surya, if u think that 70% of the movies i hv seen r between 1990 to 2010 then u shud again check my list cz there r jst 3-4 actresses who hv worked between 1990 to 2010. remaining r fm the era of 1950 to 1990. if u hd read properly u wudnt hv made this kind of comment.
n plz watch bandini, sujata, anurag n u wl cm 2 knw abt NUTAN.

Giving the names of old actresses doesnt mean that the new actresses are bad... No currebt actress fits in ur list.. That means you are pretty old thinkers.. May be there should be few more there.. Kajol is certainly there..

You mean Smita Patil didn't have competition in such phenomenal talents as Shabana Azmi, Deepti Naval, Ratna Pathak, Priya Tendulkar etc?

Hmm.. I guess you sound right... todays actress really dont get substantial roles like actress in those times got.. they kinda used to have an influence.. but todays bimbos.. are ike "see and forget" barring a few..
It is said that 'Actors are born not trained'. This is very true for the Mrs.Smita Patil, who is one of the fine artists seen in Indian Cinema. Thanks a lot for publishing this article which gave insights of this wonderful actor. I have not watched many of her movies but I would recall her in 'Mirch Masala' as the Spice factory worker who stands up against a cruel official (Played by Naseerudin Shah).
