She was really a versatile actress unlike the modern day show girls. Natural expression of emotions - that was her plus point. We still remember her performance in G.Aravindan directed Malayalam film 'Chidambaram' and also many othe movies like 'Mirch Masala' in Hindi.
One can say she was the best actress of 20th century, even though she was the daughter of Maharastra CM, she could not be saved, a great loss to film world. One can never forget her sterling performance in Kannada film 'ANVENSHENE'opp to Ananth Nag
Just as her birth was premature,so was her death!A great actress she was,Smitha Patil was the light of the bollywood in her days with all the elements of naturalism embedded in the every role she played on the celluloid.She was one of the finse actress that the Indian cine goers had & belonged to the clan of great artiste like Meena Kumari & Savithri etc.Besides being a charming face to the silver screen,she was also a simplicity personified. Whenever we recollect such luminaries,we will be forced to believe that "God really takes first those whom He likes most".Premature deaths of Meena Kumar & Savithri too substantiate this sentiment/ belief.May her soul continue to rest in peace!!
