This is a lesson for Indian film makers. Having big stars, shooting at exotic locations, spending lavish amount on item songs etc will not ensure the success of a movie. Big stars may bring in crowds for the first weekend, but the movie will not have sustaining power at BO. Ultimately its the content that matters. Thats why low budget movies like Aamir, A Wednesday, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Bheja Fry etc were successful.

My Name Is Khan added around 3.25 crore nett on Wednesday taking its five day business to nearly 42 crore nett.
The high grossing multiplexes in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR, Punjab, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore continue to do the best business. The first week nett business will be the third highest in the history of Hindi cinema.
My Name Is Khan has the advantage of no big films for competition in the next few weeks which means it will be number one choice for multiplexes chains and this will enable it have plenty of screen time despite falling collections at many centres especially CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan.

Be Carefull you should not write that movie is crap in Rediff. Raja Sen might through you out of rediff. He has given a 4Star for this movie
SRk should be thankful to Shiv Sena for creating a controversy over the release of MNIK. In the absence of the controversy, MNIK would not have taken the kind of start it did. The initial curiosity factor drew the crowd but that has now subsided. MNIK will be a losing proposition for its distributors. SRK, KJo and their friends in media can shout at the top of their voices that the movie is a hit, but the fact is it will not recover its investment.

You are right this movie is a HIT all over the world. India, especially Bombay (NOT Mumbai) does not deserve a superstar like SRK and a worldclass movie like MNIK.

I think Nowadays no one want to see SRK face r his routine acting style. Its a time for him to quite. and stick to TV host show(if anyone offerd). And the movie got good oppening of the shiva sena issue, r else it would be a big flop oppening. now this movie has been replaced by THO BAAT PAKKI. Last friday MNIK released and the next friday the movie has removed frm the cinima hall. This result of the movie.

I am not really a diehard fan of SRK. But have to give credit that he is the one actor who does not resort to 'hero-like' roles. Since he started his career, he has been doing the slightlhy crazed hero roles - Darr, Anjaam, and even comic-hero roles - Badshah, and tragic hero - Deewana, KOyla, etc.
BTW. Badshah is one of my favourites for its looniness and for when I was younger.
MOst heroes do more hero-like roles.
And he made himself a true success.
I think he turned off people only when he got associated with KaranJohar, and when he started to have an opinion. As long as he was "working" no one had issues. Too bad, one cannot even voice an opnion.
