Tees Maar Khan has seen huge negativity in the trade and media. The media is not a surprise as it happens with most big Hindi commercial potboilers but the bad mouthing in the trade was a surprise as normally the trade goes by collections but here the talk was about how the film was very bad and could never work at the box office and total disregard of the bumper opening it took on Friday.
Be cool guys, if its worth it, it doesn't matter who says what. Now get back to business, SRK or Akshay kumar is not going to earn bread for you. Even 10% of earnestness and interest shown towards film stars, if shown towards science or technology will take our country some where on the top. Peace.

Exactly. 3 scathing reviews should have been more than enough! Do you need to mislead the public? I think Farah and Akshay should retaliate in some way.

Its a BO failure dear bcoz its not going to recover max. 65 cr from theatrical business against 70 cr budget. And pls dont include sattelite, music,DVD rights bcoz if you include those thing then even Toonpur Ka Superhero will not be a BO failure.
There is so much hatred for Sharukh Khan on these forums because he sided with Pakistan cricket players. Shiv Sena went on a rampage against Shahrukh Khan. Can't understand where these people and Shiv Sena were when Salman Khan in an interview to a Pakistani channel said very confidently that the Pakistan Govt was not involved in 26/11. I think Salman Khan is a criminal and is more likely to have ties with Pak rather than Shahrukh Khan.

If you open your eyes then you can see the bias rediff and its journalists have for SRK....
Bias is not uncommon among journalists...
Just imagine, this film is doing its business, has got one of the greatest weekend collections...and REDIFF has already denounced it to be a DUD....What kind of Journalism is this??????????

Boss, TMK is a dud. Have you seen the movie? Regardless of the collections, the movie is utter nonsense. I watched the movie and it was sheer embarrassment to watch a third-grade movie like this.
Re: Re: Re: Why these double standards
by Opinionated Man on Dec 29, 2010 03:59 PM
I never expected TMK to be a classic.....It is a mindless entertainer..and it was that...
I would really rate it as good as the makers previous 2 films...

Agree that MHN and OSO were not particularly good but i was not embarrassed to watch them. But as soon as TMK starts, you know that is a silly movie and everybody is being silly. The situations are not comical, the dialogues are bad, the acting is pathetic. The movie was yuck.
Re: Re: Re: Why these double standards
by Heloise on Dec 29, 2010 03:59 PM
I don't think the question here is about how bad TMK is. Bollywood churns out hundreds of bad movies every year. But only this movie is being torn apart by the media. Why?

Because of the expectation we had from Farah Khan.Farah Khan & Sajid Khan are such personalities as soon as they start talking there is lots of humour in it , they makes us laugh in there normal conversation also.but as far as TMK is concern it is not that bad U can't call it a crap aleast.

if srk support pak players then one issue created and when pakistani people coming in big boss and creating vulgar ness then no body complains.if pakistani people come to big boss then why cannot pakistani player play in I.P.L.its sad
Ever since TMK has been released..rediff seems to have been writing all negative about it from the word go. Collection wise TMK has not done all that bad and that is not something which Rediff is writing about. For most comedy movies..one must leave the brains at home and watch the movie..it is suppose to be for entertainment only...and actors like Akshay, Govinda, Ritiesh Deshmukh are good in that and so are their movies.
Re: Rediff sold to SRK
by rajashi ghosh on Dec 29, 2010 03:51 PM
It is a pathetic movie and has been made without any conviction. What else do you expect Rediff to say. "What a beautiful movie?" "This movie is a masterpiece". MNIK was not a great movie, i agree but it had a plot, a story. The objective was to make a good movie unfortunately it was directed by Karan Johar and thst's why the movie did not turn out to be great but TMK is trash.
Re: Re: Re: Rediff sold to SRK
by rajashi ghosh on Dec 29, 2010 03:58 PM
i do agree that most of the reviews are biased and influenced and maybe even Rediff is doing the same but that can not change the fact that directors like Farah Khan and Sajid Khan are taking their audience for granted and churning out horrible movies like TMK and Housefull. TMK is atrocious to say the least.

And I suppose the Golmaal series and All The Best were signs of pure cinematic excellence?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Rediff sold to SRK
by Opinionated Man on Dec 29, 2010 04:03 PM
but that is not new....As I said earlier...OSO and MHN were also not masterpieces...
But rediff does not have the right to denounce it in this manner...
It never said anything for a film like G3 say...
That was an equally mindless entertainer....
This atleast had a semblance of a plot....
Why this partisan treatment???
responsible journalism is very difficult...and rediff has failed miserably in that count.....
