double standards...
by on Oct 02, 2007 12:10 AM  | Hide replies

hey how about the old zeenat aman song...dum maro dum...?? why wasnt there and hue and cry about it? didn't it associate dum maro dum and hare krishna hare ram?? i am not sure how much advocate Sir S Kunjuraman felt bad, but things like this have been going around for a very long time. i feel its just 2 minutes of fame that people are trying for...i know its pretty bad to see semi-clothed women dance and sing hare krishna hare ram...but this trend is definitely not at all new...what about the z grade movie red swastik...isnt swastik a sacred symbol too?? or ppl kept calm because it cld be Hitlers symbol too??? i think its just double standards...

Kudos my friend.....This is one of the sane blogs I have seen....You have hit the nail on the head...it is about 2 min fame and double standards.....It seems that our society would be cleansed by these gimmicks and bigger problems like Corruption and poverty seem miniscule..This is indeed shameful.....

People kept quite for Swastik because it was a low budget movie, and wouldn't have given Mr Kunjuraman alikes much publicity! You're right, its just the 2 minute fame gimmick and the media gives these people enough coverage. Our courts and sarkari machinery is already so inefficient with zillions of cases waiting to see the light of the day and such cases just increase the courts burden... pity

you mean to say that no body should file case as the backlog is too much. Shame on you. 'Double standards' above said that why there was no protest on Hare Rama hare Krishna. Answer is simple as there was no 'S Kunjuraman ' dared to do that. you should at least support the courage people are showing for the right cause. Atleast dont say against if you cant support.

Ajay Rao
Kannada movie
by Ajay Rao on Oct 01, 2007 11:22 PM  | Hide replies

The movie Chandramukhi was remake of Kannada hit AAPTHAMITRA; As everybody knows Rajani monitors the and watch kannada movies. When he was in bangalore he watched AAPTHAMITRA and wanted to remade in Tamil 'makki ka makki'. Though AAPTHAMITRA inspired from Malayalam movie but it's not 100% copy. The hero enters only in second half where as in Kannada from first scene.

But why the hell the media including rediff is saying BHOOL BULAIH is remake of Chandramukhi and dont mention AAPTHAMITRA from which Chandramukhi was made.

I watched both AAPTHAMITRA and CHANDRAMUKHI and offcourse AAPTHAMITRA is better movie..no monkey gimmics of Rajani.

Rediff or whoever please appreciate the facts and correct it!

EVen Aapthamitra ran for 400 days in Bangalore ..and earned more than 40 crores.

Saundaryas performance is outstanding where as Jothika in Tamil is not upto the mark. DOnt know about Vidya Balan in Hindi version...

But one should not hesitate to agree the original is still Malayalam which is remade to other languages with changes to suit the local audiences.

SHOBANA'S AND MOHAN LAL'S PERFORAMCE IN THE MALAYALAM ORIGINAL CANNOT BE MATCHED BY ALL THESE "SO CALLED ACTORS AND ACTRESSES" PUT TOGHETHER. AND AGAIN, THE MALAYALAM ORIGINAL MOVIE STANDS UP WAY HIGH THAN THESE CHEAP IMITATIONS, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS MADE MORE THAN A DECADE AGO.

Hi all.

i totally agree with Ajay, and i had posted the same thinmg sometime back here, but hardly got any positive response.

ITS REALLY REALLY SAD THAT "APTHE MITRA" DOES NOT GET ANY MENTION ANY WHERE.

A message to mr. Gogo, mr. ajay and all of us in karanataka still agree with the fact that the malayalam original was the best. but we r just sad that the kannda versuion does not get any mention. lets not fight here.

All I can say is Mallu Director writer P Vasu spoiled the Classic Manichithrathazu for money. He did that in Kannada and Tamil. He claims that, he changed the story. Critcially speaking he spoiled the story. The soul of of story was teared for stardom and boxoffice....And from what I know..Bhool Bhuliaya is going to more close towards Malayalam movie than Tamil version...with little bit changes in songs ...

we all hindu people should appreciate mr.kunjuraman for his approach.like many others i was also hurt on watching the specified song.the court should punish priyadarshan siverely, because he too is an indian, not a foreigner.if he did it with other religions he would have dumped by this time.we should save our religion and culture from the most irresponsible persons , now are in most responsible positions, like mr.m. karunanidhi.
thanx n regards .
Balaji.

by Oblivion on Oct 01, 2007 11:17 PM

i dont understand one thing..

The song has been playing in theatres and on TV since quite a few weeks .. The objection should have been immediate..

Why suddenly after out of a billion people, one person reacts and then suddenly half the population awakes to condemn it.?

Ofcourse, anything hurting the sentiments of any community is wrong indeed..

But i do not think, we need to wait for some one make us realise whats right or wrong!!

go destroy all those temples which have statues in all conceivable positions-
go read how shankaracharya describes parvathi in 'sondayra lahari and then commit suicide!
go read some kalidasa-read 'ritu samharam'%'kumara sambhavam'-
how does he describe siva-parvathi union, haan?
is that indian culture?
lord brahma married his own daughter-is that indian culture?
