Think about it
by Rochak Agrawal on Feb 08, 2007 09:31 PM  | Hide replies

It hurts me as much as it does to you all. But think about it, Abhishek is getting the Bentley because of Amitabh and a part of his own work. And Amitabh is getting all this for all the stunning performances he has given and the long nights in reaching where he has now. The world only respects the best and it should be that way too. It makes us all work hard and reach those higher echelons we always dream about.

So stop cribbing, start burning that midnight oil and reach those highest echelons in the social ladder where you will receive the same respect.

Finally somebody has posted a sane comment. You are absolutely right, we Indians are so jealous that anyone with a bit of wealth is critised to no end. instead of criticising, we should look up to the likes of Amitabh and try to emulate his dedication to his work and perseverance. There was a time when he was in much debt, and it was only due to his hard work and diligence that he was able to regain his lost aura. Does any one have the guts to be in the public life and still maintain his dignity for so long as Amitabh has?

Missy,

Apparently, you seem to speak from personal experience!! Are you having trouble trying to find your biological father?

Only a desperate, sad person like you could come up with something as vile as this!! Shame on you!

The media has gone crazy!
by abhishek bhattacharyya on Feb 08, 2007 09:11 PM  | Hide replies

It appears thatthe Indian media has gone crazy. This is such a non-issue. Rs. 2.5 Crores is not that big an amount today. I completed my MBA just in 2005 and already i'm seeing big bucks in spite of simultaneously aiding social workers and helping NGOs. So why the hue and cry abt Amar Singh's money or a damned car which is duty paid?? Anyway the car costs Rs. 2.5 Cr. just due to a 160-300% Tax component which has been pocketed by the government itself. (We should thank Amar Singh for this)! Guys there are much bigger issues to be tackled, like health, education, infrastructure and cleanliness. Screw politicians. Do your bit instead of just criticizing.

Yo Bro !! thats the way to go yaar seriously this freaking rascals as the US residents call them ( the Media ) is really going crazy nowadays seriously is there a bone of contention here that these people are making such a hue & cry over someother person's personal life ( & that too when that person is really not a issue to deal with ) plus the issues like females making marriage a minting money with DOWRY Act's aid, the female foeticide & the biggest one the Redtapizm & the Corruption in Various feilds in the country are nowhere to be bothered .... Why?? jus' Because these people show just what they want to & not what actually prevails. These News Channels are nothing but scumbags full of shitty news & nothing else !!

Facts
by Manjeet Kohli on Feb 08, 2007 09:11 PM  | Hide replies

Friends.

I'd like to advise restraint before your speak ill about anyone.

Lets look at some facts.

1. Amar Singh imported this car .
2. He paid with a cheque.
3. He used his Pan no to buy the car.

Now if the IT dept wants to check his source of his income. They should. They have no business in maligning his name. If the IT dept finds The source of Amar Singh Fraudlant, they should fine him. Has Amar Singh refused to pay the fine?

If Amar Singh wants to Abhshek and Ash or any Tom Dick or Radha to use his car, What is anyone's problem?

Excellent - Bravo !
by Paulo Gokhale on Feb 08, 2007 09:10 PM  | Hide replies

These Bentleys coming to India bring India one step closer to a revolution. There is already a silent revolution going on in the streets, this way it might become bloody some day. In a ridiculously strange and lengthy way the haves are eventually helping the have nots. In the meantime I think India of all countries is about to take the cake on the count of very apparent disparity between rich and poor, and then to think that India is the country that brought forward the likes of Mahatma Gandhi. I am positive we should be ashamed that this is happening and that we have very clearly forgotten the wise words of MKG saying "there is enough for everyones need but not enough for everyones greed". Maybe it is high time to replace Mahatma Gandhi with several of our present day Indian politicians on the Indian Rupee notes.

India please awake and do not go down the purely capitalistic road, the answers lie not there, but rather in having a clear conscience.

Yeah, stop using computer since it is a luxury item, Mr Gokhale. If something is allowed by law, your perceptions don't matter.
I dislike Amar Singh and expensive cars. But that is no reason to call this a crime. The other guy may not like my house.
And he is challenging authorities to dig out if something is wrong. Pls go ahead. I can only see jealousy here.
Remember glass houses analogy.
