You guys dunno anythin about Richard, he lusts for young girls (i figured out he is like a pedophile) and then dumps them. He is just a dirty old man. I myself am a victim of his lust. Please spare a thought for a wronged woman.

Yeah right... Ladies and Gentleman, Cindy Crawford herself.... Here in Rediff india...
So....is it noble to kiss in a public place than to give or take bribe in the offices of India.....in my opinion Kissing in a public place if more of a noble act. Nobody should feel bad about it. Or if some one is feeling bad then he should think that what he has done with his wife or lover in the absence of others....i hope we guys specially hypos raped their wives....those can not be called as LOVE....thus Shilpa I am with you....Richard didn't do any wrong....we should open ourselves....we should think aspects in a broader way...

Mr.kunal, behaving indisciminately is the main cause for AIDS and having sex with whomever visible/possible is another one raising AIDS and for all these things lust for women/sex is root one.which they have shown directly. In stead of controlling AIDS these two seems be spreading it more and say modern etc. This so called unnecessary moderanisation is cause of all new sort of diseases.

Mr.Rashid Khan, ur sister & mother are not only your property. They are independent individuals. There are so many RESPECTED brothers & sons who depend upon the earnings of their sisters & mothers. So do awake such people so that sisters & mothers will be in control as per your norms. Dr.Shailendra Shivajirao Gaikwad.

True, mister Gaekwad so next time a beggar across the street kisses your wife/daugher, use the same logic, after all they are not your property right and kiss is just a kiss (give this advice to your wife/daughter when they scream for help).

I would just laugh, as it is not a big deal! He tried to explain that by kissing, hugging AIDS doesn%u2019t pass to other person. So if someone has AIDS you can still hold his/her hands, hug and kiss. People are making big deal out of it, let me remind you India is the 2nd largest country in the world in population. We are the founder of %u201CKama Surta%u201D and a simple kiss on a chick is not worth burning stuffs down. This is totally embarrassing for India on international level.
i think the media show be given a kick on thier ass..... they are the once making moles look like mountains.... its they who turned all this voilence on...
Protestors of this incident should find something more worthwhile to protest about. "Naari ka apmaan band karo!" Where is Naari ki izzat when Indian men in Delhi buses publicly rub themselves, thrusting their pelvises onto girls and women, too shamed to say anything. How often is anyone outraged enough to say anything?! Shame on this society of hypocrites!

I couldn't have said it better, totally agree with what your saying. This is what happens to those who are not well educated they have nothing else better to do but create chaos and make noise for no reason.

There is nothing wrong about the kissing incident. In grammy awards in Newyork or London the actor and actresses kiss openly that also lip to lip kiss. Here he , Richard Gere has kissed Shilpa On cheeks.Still you shout about the incident. Our actors and actresses also kiss openly each other in western countries functions with foreign counterparts. Then what is wrong in kissing on cheek.
God, India takes everything out of proportion. shut up. its just a small incident and its taken way tooo over board. india is the 2nd largest country with AIDS. that gotta tell us something about our customs in private and when something this small happens, you rage...get a life.

jothika, i think you are wasting your time posting here to a bunch or losers. Rashid and Kishore have no work and are a bunch or undeducated guys. So leave it at it.
I think that the act of Gere kissing Shilpa was not acceptable. Still i feel that this incident should not be highlighted more now becoz there are many more important issues to be looked at if we all are at all serious about HIV prevention. Saying that their act was indecent is not enough, more dangerous acts are going on daily in front of our eyes to which we turn a blind eye.
RE:shameful act!
by Arindam Roy on Apr 17, 2007 09:28 PM
why gere shud be punished for the kiss okk fine he mite have done wrong but shilpa is also not guilty abt the incidence then why to hype the topic and punish Gere. Okkie abt indian tradition but still shilpa is fine with the incedent then why shud we bother.....
RE:shameful act!
by rahul sharma on Apr 17, 2007 07:44 PM
Hi sunakshi, Yes indeed its a shameful act, but you think that punishment for Gere is a solution now? He deserves a punishment for One KISS. Then what about millions of lives that he has saved with his awareness programmes. Dont you think he deserves to be forgiven for all good acts he did or still is involved in?
"high-risk groups such as truckers, who have helped spread the virus across the country as many of them have sex with prostitutes during their journeys and infect their wives back home."
So if we are a really thinking people, what is more damaging to Indian coulture, A sucessful handsome forign man finding an Indian woman attractive and kissing her in a romantic way
OR
Indian husbands having sex with prostitutes then having sex with their wives?
Gere kissing Shilpa shows that affection can be safe, and affection needs to stay safe all the time, and this means using a condom, simple.
