Lage Raho Munna Bhai has really got an apeal, which will attract the Oscar Jury.
Lagaan was a very good movie. But Pardes and Paheli? How did they ever think that they would get Oscars for those 2 boring movies. Paheli was a PAHELI only
ok seriously what is this western appeal bullshit that u all are talking about. im a bombaiyya who lives in toronto and while all the idiots who born here loved KANK most white ppl thot it was over the top crap. its a horrible movie, other countries send movies about war and things that really matter and u want to send some shitty love movie to the oscars?? yah that will really help with the image of us running around trees and breaking into song and dance. i would say india should stop sending movies until the audience gets a better taste in movies than this fluff thats released.

Should be definitely OMKARA - because it's a class apart. Though rang de basanti and the Lage raho Munnabhai are too good - we can send them only if we have an indian on the Oscars Panel - who really understands what great impact these two movies have made on indian mindsets. An indian can only understand it.
Rang De Basanti would be right choice for OSCARS. It has been one of the best scripted, edited, directed and also the acting was at the best. Nowaday's the Hindi film industry is more of showing the world which only exists in the dreams of a Indian common man. Where as in this film the subject was totally different and rarely seen in the films made nowadays. It dealth more of with Non Voilence. And I would say that this movie might have trigered the recent agitation of the medical students against the Quota raise for Schedule Cast. How can any one suggest movie like Kabhi Alvidha Na Kehna or Krish which are commercial movies. And in case of Lage Raho Munnabhai it is also an commercial film with loads of soft & emotional stuff, which I think can only make sense to people who knows country, our customs and first of all our Great Father of the nation. IN OSCARS WE SHOULD SEND FILMS WHICH HAS AN GLOBAL APPEAL.
