I laughed when I read this writer supporting Debojit's singing. Just by trying to make your voice sound like Kishore Kumar doesn't make anybody a singer. I am from Eastern part of India but this guy Debojit is far below the standards of Hemachandran and Vinit. Debojit can't rener any little difficult song well. All his songs are always light Kishore Kumar songs, which sounds awefull as there can't be a second Kishore Kumar, he should not even try that.
Vinit and Hemchandran are original and way ahead of Debojit. So Mr.Peri should start listening some seripus music and then write stuff about music.
Thats a sad state of affairs that we find ourselves in.Very disheartening to see debojit being mauled emotionally by other three contestants, who are as ignorant as the judges themselves.The rules were made before the contests began and the directors of the programme shud make sure it is upheld.If in this case,Debojit is winning why would anyone argue.As a regular viewer, I wonder when people are going to behave themselves and talk calmly rather than shouting at the top of their voice.The decent audience would be greatly pleased when there is a polite etiquette at the show,where the contestents behave composed and dignified.
I did not understand the writers insight. What does he mean by saying my heart goes out for debojit and ismail. Does he mean he is supporting them, he blamed the rigging though. I agree to most of the his opinions, Himesh Reshmya begs people for votes like a cheap politician, ismail throws some filmy dialogues, and begs. I once saw him begging in the name of debojits late mother, He said its peoples responsibility to help a person whose mother died and her dream was to make her son singer. what?its silly, If it was his mother's dream why should people vote,If they believe in music and if debojit has talent he will get the votes, but god sake dont throw senti dialogues. I think only Adesh srivastav is little bit practical, but some times even he gets to filmy things. And about the regional aspect, its the structure of India that it has so many diversifications, but they cannot be a part of voting system for a singing programs. Even American Idol faced this problem due to Racism. But there was less of regionalism.
Saregamapa was a classy program, but with challenge 2005 it lost its classiness.
dear debojit, i haven't seen the sa re ga ma episode mentioned here but after reading this article all i can say is don't loose faith in our nation because of some stupid people.i haven't heard u sing but if u got that many votes from 7 states in india then u r the winner for me. best wishes, meenakshi
I completely disagree, there are people sitting in East, completely dedicated to vote for Debojit. Agreed that our lad Debojit is innocent and has no control for what is happening. But this really is unfair, as the voting is showing lot of favoritism. If you hear it very closely, you will realize that Vinit, Hemachandra, Himani & Nihira are much much better singers than Debojit. Debojit has done prominent mistakes on high pitches, lost "Sur" in many places, not the case with others. He's being overly supported & it has become a prestige issue for East people.
I surely agree with Mahesh. First of all it was wrong to tell the breakup of votes by places. Even though, if Debojit's home people support him more than Vineet's or Hemachandra's home people, is it his fault. Infact it means that he has been able to make a connection with them and therefore they are voting for him. If people in UP and AP are not voting for their candidates, is it Debojit's fault? Naaaw.
Also, I agree that Vineet is just too overhyped. Personally, though I have watched only the last three shows as I got Zee in my home recently, I think Hemachandra is the best and the most sincere. Debojit is also very good. Vineet is another addition to the Mohd. Rafi clone and tries to throw a lot of style. However, that style looks like it is straight coming from some slums of India.
We are neck deep in regionalism, casteism, religion-ism every where. Even when we choose people for parliament,jobs,education.
We don't want to see whether some body is worth its salt or not.
We have one India but unfortunately we are divided into hundreds of parts.
It is true historically also. Muslims ruled One thousand years, Britishers ruled 200 years because we don't have unity.
We still love to think about Hitler's Aryan invasion theory. Because it divides North's from South. Politicians loved to divide since it is easy to rule when people are divided.
We know all this. But problem is some where else.
I don't think saragamapa voting is fair. Even from North East. FYI North East hates bengalis and Debojit is a bengali. How come he is getting so much ever increasing votes.
I am sure votes can be faked over the phones and internates.
The statement is a reality and I also support it from the bottom of my heart. My heart also goes out to Debojit. I am also trying to vote him as many times as possible from USA through internet. But dont know whether these votes will be counted because anything (any gufi) can happen in this show
