Rafi Sb got his dues
by Parag on Aug 23, 2006 03:26 PM

I think rediff is not getting good news items nowadays. That's why they are giving so much importance to a piece of shit said by some Bangladeshi. Rafi Sb lives in the heart of the people of India and I think that is the best due he can get for his amazing work.

Mohd. Rafi's Recognition.
by Sreerupa on Aug 23, 2006 03:23 PM

It seems people in Bangladesh have nothing else to do other than creating splits and spreading rumours?

I personally feel people in India do not discriminate artists in term of religions. That can be proved if we look at top stars of bombay film industry, also the president of India.

Mohd Rafi is my favourite and possibly one of the shinning stars of music that our country has ever produced. Even if he had not received a BHARAT RATNA it doesnot matter , as he remains alive still today in hearts of million fans of his by whose demand his songs are still one of the "best sellers " in market.

Dont you think this is the biggest achievement of an artist?

Mohammed Rafi didn't get his due till now. The goverment should honour him at least with a Bharat ratna. Mohammed Rafi is a real ratna at which whole India should be proud of.

Infact what a government can provide what people have provide to Rafi Saheb. He is still alive in people's heart and continue to live. The singing history will always continue to include his contibutions. The melodies sung by him are still alive and affection and appreciation prevails.

due
by jeff on Aug 23, 2006 08:42 AM

Well said.

Has it become a fashion for non Indian people to comment on things just to create ill will and discord?

it seems that every one in India enjoys Rafiji's music.
So what is with these people from countries that have no music industry?
Are they just jealous or trying to create a split?

Get above the poison in your mind and enjoy the music man or woman.

Rafi the great musician
by Ravi Kumar on Aug 23, 2006 08:29 AM

The Bangladeshi musician is unnecesarily creating controversies. Mohd.Rafi is one of the greatest musicians India ever had. I simply cannot forget his song " Hari Om...Mantarpat...." He has become immortal in India through his songs. Every music lover would remember Mohd. Rafisaab in India. The greatest accolade that a musician can get is from his admirers and he has received it and will continue to receive in India. No doubt about it. It would be kind if the Bangladeshi musician just keeps quiet without creating any noise. He does not know and understand India.

Why rediff
by jeevash on Aug 23, 2006 01:19 AM

Why does rediff should give coverage to some Bangladehsi bloke saying about Rafi or lack of respect to him.
Over the years, people in India have given loads of love to Rafi, and he will live forever in the hearts of people of India. People in India do not discrimante the artists on the basis of religions. Look who are the top stars in bollywood!!!

Truly God gifted indeed
by Prasad Kashyap on Aug 23, 2006 12:35 AM

My father who is a great fan of Rafisaab introduced me to his dulcet voice when I was around 7 years old. Ever since, I have known no other singer greater than beloved Rafisaab.

He was blessed not only with the most melodious voice but incredible talent to go with that. Its as if Goddess Saraswathi herself must have made her abode there.

And from what I have heard, he was a kind and decent human being too.

He has become immortal through his voice.
