Dr.Venugopalarao
regarding the unfortunate observation by Bangladeshi musician
by Dr.Venugopalarao on Aug 24, 2006 02:13 PM

Dear Sir, I wonder why these ordinary mortals are worried about the so called awards which including the recipients likely to forget.Who are we to award a "Gandharva" who came in human form to make our drab lives melodius and made us feel very fortunate. Strangely it is Rafi saab who does not desrve cynics like us. As long as people talk about a song (leave alone music) Rafi saab will be remembered. I disagree with his son's observation that a singer like Rafi will be seen in 1000 years. No sir we shall never have a Rafi in this life or the next. There can be only one Rafi saab like Ghantasala in the south.Pancham not being Rafi's favourite really beats me if you take songs from Teesri manjil in to consideration. It was God's wish that the other Gandhrva (Kishore kumar) also should entertain us,hence a temporary set back for Rafi saab.As for Naushad's observation about Kishore's lack of classical music I feel sorry for this composer.I never liked his so callede classical compositions barring one song but then every composer has one hit.
Lets revel in listening to the master and shall not bother about the silly awards.

Rafi is un-compairable to any body..no body can sing "Gham Ki andheri raat mein na dil ko bekarar kar..subah jaroor ayegi subah ka intezar kar", which makes people to look towords the brighter part of life( with due credit to the writer of the song)and he told us clearly " tum mujhe yun bhula na paoge..........

Indians love Rafi Saab
by Zahed on Aug 23, 2006 09:43 PM

there may sometimes be religious riots in India but I must say that Indians do not discriminate artists. Look at Bollywood, all muslim artists are well loved by people of India. Mohd. Rafi got his dues . he got the 'love' from the bottom of heart of millions of Indians, hindus, muslim, christians. He still lives in their hearts. That is the best honour a person can ever have in his country.

ANIL K AGGARWAL
Rafissab-the greatest blessing of God to India
by ANIL K AGGARWAL on Aug 23, 2006 05:03 PM

There are few people who honour the awards, not that the awards honour them, be that the Bharat Ratna or any other award. Besides, these awards have been given to many such people who could not equal the nail of Rafisaab's toe. Rafisaab was above all such considerations. Besides, Rafisaab was one of the best Indians, and a real human being. He was one of the greatest blessings of God to India. Truly such people are born in thousand years. Similarly, it is true, such people cannot be erased from the memories of his fans and the melodies of the airs, waters and even the silence of life. He has sung for every occasion and for every emotion. Rafi saab shall remain a benchmark for all ages to come. If anybody mistakenly feels that Rafisaab is being ignored in today's world, s/he is either not aware about greatness of Rafisaab, or is not aware about the total erosion in the Indian music, today. I also feel sad about the casual attitude of Rafisaab's siblings, towards his memory. For me, and millions and millions of his lovers, Rafisaab shall remain a towering personality, always. I salute his music and his memory.

May God bless his soul.If he is tobe born again, may it be India again

Great Mohd. Rafi
by Prince on Aug 23, 2006 04:43 PM

Mohd Rafi continues to live with us; in our hearts; in our songs; in our music and in our thoughts. His memory lives as long as India lives and Indian music lives.

People who make such remarks just want cheap publicity. Simply ignore

Manoj
Rafisabb will be in the memory
by Manoj on Aug 23, 2006 04:34 PM

The award does not get the dues to a artist it is the love and affection he gets during his life time and beyond and I am sure Rafisaab would not require anyone's confirmation for this.

From his son shaeen, it was a mature thinking reflected from his statement. yes it is people and not govt are the true reflection of artist.

Moh. Rafi is the greatest singer India has produced till date. He is admired by all the music lovers and if you all observe current generation of singers, their singing is ispired by Mohd. Rafi.
