please don't remake this classic...ramu, u have a lot of original ideas, don't fall in this trap of remaking classics, hollywood's been trying for years and failing. Stop it and make an Indian spaghetti western of your own with a new story if u want. Don't remake Sholay for the love of God.
A story has characters played by certain actors [the cast]. So it becomes on the part of the casting team to identify which actor of the film industry is capable of enacting the charter to style and elegeance.
Just because Amitabh and Dharmendra were there in the blockbuster "Sholay", it doesn't mean that their wards should play their father's or mother's role.
The success of any movie would be to reach a large audience through appropriate casting and a neat storyline. The efforts should be to re-create the drama with a new presentation style yet giving a feel of sholay. So whoever does the role in the film should be capable of justifying the character.
That's all I have to say about the cast. And I hope that the creators of the movie would do a subtle task in selecting the right actors to represent the characters of sholay and come up with a contemporary attitude in the presentation of the movie.
JD Chakravarty as Gabbar Singh John Abraham as Amitabh Bacchan Abhishek Bacchan as Dharmendar Shipa Shetty as Hema Malini Gracy Singh as Jaya Baduri Sanjay Dutt as Sanjeev Kapoor
