In my opinion, Sunil Shetty can properly justice the role of Gabbar Singh. His fitness/Strong Body & Chemistry with Akshay Kumar(Veeru below) is great.
In my opinion the other cast is as under.
Jay - Ajay Devgan ( originally Amitabh)
Due to his talking serious eyes.
Veeru - Akshay Kumar ( Originally Dharmendra)
Due to mastery in action & comedy both.
Thakur - Amitabh ( sanjeev kumar)
I think this God Gifted actor can play any role. He has now reached to the level of Angry Old Man.
Basanti - Priti Zinta (For Hema Malini)
She is by nature very talketive & choolbooli Girl.
For Jaya Bhaduri's role- Kaajol/Bhumika, a decent typical indian cultured role.
For Jagdeep's role(Surma Bhopali)- Paresh Rawal a king of comedy nowadays.
For Jailor Asrani's role) - Johny Lever is the Right Choice.a superb comedy artist.
For Mausiji- (Leela Mishra)- A Bindu is Right Chice.
For Helen's item song- Mallika Sherawat with copule of hot scenes.
Given that Hindi movies today are much beyond the classic hero-villain clash cases, it is difficult to choose a Gabbar Singh who can step into the shoes of the great'Tera Keya Hoga Kalia' Amjad Khan to play out the villain in today's Sholay. Nevertheless three close choices could be Danny Denzongpa(the man who was supposed to play Amjad's role in the 70s), Kabir Bedi(he has got an apt figure and a good voice) or for that matter, our own old Jay. Big B today can play any role whatsoever and I think the public will not mind accepting him.
well it is a great move to remake sholay but the cast would definately a amatter of concerned for the director. firstly anyone in the industry cannot replace the devilish gabbar but if we go for a hunt then my pick would be amitabh himself as gabbar the rest of the cast should be somewhat like kay kay , ranadeep hooda,manoj vajpayee and sushmita sen this would add variety as this film will be based on the mumbai underworld
My Cast would consist of: Amjad Khan-John Abraham Amitabh Bachchan- Hrithik Dharmendra- Abhishek Bachchan Hema Malini-Preity Zinta Jaya Bachchan-Aishwariya Rai Sanjeev Kumar-Shahrukh Khan
It is very simple. Hrithik roshan(owesome performence in lakshya) can do defenetally amitabh's role. Akshay kumar( great performence in mujhse saadi karogi) is able to do Dharmendra's role. Priyanka chopra can do hema malini's role, and amisha patel can do jaya's role.
Iam sure that Sholay was a good movie. To make this today Sholay bettern than the one before, it needs a good brain and good actors. Ramu has that brain but he needs to choose the right actors for the film. Sunny is good actor but abhishek is not. Sholay is serious film and it needs serious actors. Iam recommending Ramu that he selects Ajaydevgan and Vivek obrai. These two actor did great performance in the film Compan which was serious film.
