yeah.. the project plan and actual work was started during BJP regime and planned for 4 years but due to bad governance and corruption of congress it got completed after 12 years. It was half completed after 10 years so the above article is not fully correct.
Even after 15 years of construction,the 5 km long rail come road bridge over the Brahmaputra at Bogi_Beel,Assam not compliments.It needs another 5 years.

They said biggest bridge. And you can build big bridge only if you have big river. Guj don't have such big Gap for rivers. They have small bridges as per requirement. Understand the common sense. And please read the article they said their source is wikipedia which is been written by not verified source.
there is a bridge on narmada river which is built in 1899 and 1.5 miles long.and still it is in good condition after so many floods in narmada river. atulbhai doctor at Canada.

well said . how he miised out the famous pamba n bridge built over not just river a sea with both rail and road running parrallel one of the amazing feature of the bridge is ship can cross only when Railway line is lifted upwards it is like level crossing surprising author missed out let him /her gather proper info before writing this article

BWSL: 5.6 km pamban: 2 km tenth largest: 2.75 km so how is the length measured!!!
