by nirmal narayanan on Aug 19, 2013 05:17 PM  | Hide replies

See the Disciplined traffic movement on the busy Worli sea link in Mumbai. And if you are a Bangalorean imagine the mad drivers and zig zag driving in Bangalore city.

Also see that there are no auto rickshaws and bikes in that road, this bridge is in the zone in Mumbai where rickshaws not allowed. If similar thing done in Bangalore, there will be lane discipline.

Nirmal,

It is not that "Bombay is disciplined" but it is the fact that auto rick shaws are not allowed on the sea link, that you see orderly traffic movement in that photo!

Call it Mumbai Sir. I have been to most big cities in India. Mumbai fares far better than most in terms of traffic discipline. The amount of roads space available is too less compared to the no. of vehicles yet the movement is far better than in cities like Delhi & Bengaluru.

narayan, may be you are myopic. See it properly. On both lanes, many cars are overtaking, carelessly. More dangerous is there is no divider and the road is just divided by white paint and plastic boulder reflector (night).

It is not a matter of Odisha being backward, it is the matter of the writer being backward of ignorance and unawareness, and incompetent of publishing faulty information on public domain.
