Re: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO BE DONE

You are wrong buddy . The price you are quoting for USA is for gallons . 1 gallon is close to 3.7 liters. If you go by today's exchange rate , 1 lr of petrol in USA is around 45 INR . In USA market decides price , rate fluctuates everyday .
It is disgusting & distressing the way things are happening. Not to rise the prices before elections is also cheating the voter. It is misleading and mischievous. The Government must bring out a white paper clearly giving the cost details, the customs, the excise, the profitability of the oil companies, the incident of VAT. Why can the Government not reduce the % of such taxes that further escalate the burden. The cartels playing with crude oil, gold and silver must be exposed & a fact finding exercise needs to be conducted & brought to the public. Have the increases to do with any big foreign powers or groups playing upon the world community. The common man,we always get so worried, does not depend as much upon the petrol as is the working class, the middle class. For the higher class money is in abundance & they can choose to remain mute spectators. It is also time the Government makes a rigorous & honest survey to find the consumption by the Government through all its Departments,dependants,beneficiaries,.. . The gross misuse must be checked. This is also a big burden on the tax payer indirectly percolating down the line. As a self imposed discipline one can remember Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri :"MISS A MEAL" -the acute food problem was converted to Surplus.Details must be given on imports & internal yield.Ambani's in "Business World" had given big hopes of easi

Remove subsidies on kerosine and LPG to bring back all fuel prices to their actual level, which will be about 50% of what we have it today. Increase in kerosine price is made affordable for the rural people as directly cash subsidy should be given through schemes like national employement guarantee scheme.. let the government tighten the delivery and management of those schemes, when the subsidies on kerosine etc is no longer essential.
All B.u.l.l. S.h.i.t.. This is plan of the UPA. They know they wont come to power for next 10 years.. how will they survive?? Out of 5/- Rs hike - Re-1 for Oil Companies and Rs.4 to Sonia-Pranav-Manmohan-and Speaker etc.. so that they can bundle up as much wealth as needed to survive next 10 years. This is how Govt. Of India Pvt. Ltd. runs.
We need to have fixed amount of taxes for various fuels say @75/ barrel. When price increases beyond this level, a fixed rate of taxes will ensure that there is no cascading effect of taxes due to crude oil price rise. If this is not done, we can be sure austerity is only for the common man and not the government. Then we are only paying for the government. We also need to bring down our dependence on LPG by switching to Natural gas in a big way. This will happen only by increasing the number of players.
WE have seen almost 10 times increase in petrol prices and every time the same reasons were put forward that oil companies are at loss hence price increased. Please understand all burden of loss are comfortably put on every citizen above poverty line. and below the poverty line people no scheme of govt. reaches 100% The govt. introduced service tax few years ago on telephone/mobile users and thereby every common man pays service tax and thereby collected huge revenue. both this plus tax on oils be enjoyed by Govt. This revenue earning should be appropriated and petrol prices to be reduced to the old rate which exist in the beginning of the year 2010.
