Corruption-How to eradicate it.
by Sumesh Balakrishnan on Feb 20, 2010 09:51 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Sir

Following are some of the steps, which I personally believe would reduce corruption.

1. The biggest corruption lies in the Public Corporations like PDS, State and Centre tax collection agencies,CBEC,etc, have the babus and bureaucratic set up removed. Young qualified people with proper training would do a honest job.

2.Reward the honest and publicly blacklist the corrupt sending accross warning signals , this would encourage honesty.

3. Bring more accountability and transperancy in govt set ups.

4. ACB numbers set up in different states do not help, some ATS kind of a squad needs to be in force.

Regards

Sumesh B

Cancell all the denomination of curruncy notes other than Rs 50,Rs 20,Rs10 and Rs5....which are used by poor people ...balance notes are used by all black marketers ..middle class uses cheques/debit/credit card

This will solve 98% of curruption ...to give bribe of 100000 rs he will require 20 VIP suitcases

Automation with Independent Watch Dogs
by Praveen Goud on Feb 20, 2010 02:58 AM  Permalink

1. Automation with acknowledgements, public visible tracking systems with timelines and independent body as watch dogs for actions against violations.

2.Recall option of elected representatives for not taking action against violaters.

3.Adequate salary , amenities and benefits for bureaucrats, jurists and legislators taking into account of spouse, two kids and parents as dependants. Inspite of these, if these crave for more money through greediness, inculcate detestation by recommending prostitution which is legal as another way for bureaucrats, jurists, and legislators to make more money rather than corruption which is illegal.

4.Raise the awareness and standard of living among citizens irrespective of religion, caste, gender and region through compulsory and quality education to question and fight against corruption.

5.Provide a provision for complaining against corruption entertainers through various channels including internet, postal, phone and drop boxes rather than ACB raiding once or a while before the corrupted official retires after looting what he could by that time.

As one of the panelists on NDTV said, " It is the certainty of a punishment that deters people from committing crimes rather than the severity of the punishment"..It takes ages for the Indian courts to settle cases. I think they should work with SLAs.

Make a rule where any one caught in any money scam can't become politician.Check politicians background is free of criminal activities before giving ticket.Make sure police department becomes corruption free, and does not produce false reports.Increase little pay of govt employees not getting enough pay, then afterwards send anti corruption raid specialist.Make sure who is caught taking bribes is put behing bars for 8 years. And those judges those are caught asking for bribes to give decision in favour of party who gives him bribe, such judges be put behind bar for atleast 15-20 years.
