by Ravinder Takshak on Feb 03, 2010 10:38 AM  Permalink

consider this 30% tax on income, service tax 12%, road tax 10% on vehicle purchase, overall whatever we earn more than 50% goes into taxes. We should have one slab. Some figures may vary from state to state but that's not important. And then what we get, north indian south indian... wow at tax collection no one says we wont collect taxes from blah blah

Income Tax Refunds
by giridharan on Feb 03, 2010 07:08 AM  Permalink

In the returns ofmy wife filed for FY 1999-2000, she claimed for a refund of Rs.6000/-. IT Dept lost the copy of Rs. 60000/- invested in PPF and sent letter asking to pay balance tax of Rs.6000/-(The tax rebate on Rs. 60000/- is Rs. 12000/-). We replied with another copy of the PPF Challan with a request to refund the original Rs.6000/-. In spite of many reminders till date, we have not received the refund whereas refunds for further yers have been received. We made representation even when the department conducted the 'Refund Mela' but to no avail. In some cases refunds below Rs. 1000/- are not received.
My request to the Finance Minister is to amend the rule in such a way that if a refund is not received before filing the next return, provision should be made available to treat it as 'advance tax already paid' and adjust the amount while filing the next return.

This year tax
by Bharatiyan on Feb 03, 2010 06:37 AM  Permalink

This year tax will be a death nail for every one.

It will be unprecedented one.

Any economist with common sense will suggest rid of the BIG GOVERNMENT, cut meaningless Spending. Reduce income tax to the minimal level. reduce service tax, vat. There some many worthless ministers, departments. It costs huge money for the public.

Govt advertises like income tax will be used for road construction blah blah... but roads are not free.. we have to pay toll gate every where. Road tax.. govt is just cheating.. this is because we never questioned our representatives.

Income Tax
by Tushar Jagdale on Feb 03, 2010 01:46 AM  Permalink

We always say that very less Indians pay income tax, there are several reasons for that, and the most important is the hard procedure of paying income tax. So it should be made easy to pay income tax and tax free earnings should be increased up to Rs. 300000/- per year as there is huge inflation and high cost of better living standard.

I want
by gangaji on Feb 03, 2010 12:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I want Mr.Mukherjee to go. I mean no offence. But he is more of a high profile clerk than a policy maker who has a vision. Two budgets and we have seen it all. He sucks as finance minister. And he sucks as defence minitser and external affairs minister too.

So in essence he must leave it to better people to manage. I mean really. He is a good person no doubt. But utterly incompetent..in every portfolio. Pranabda MUST retire.
For the sake of India. India need better people. Not just old people from Indira Gandhi courtyard. We need real people to manage real situations.

Income Tax for Salaried Class
by sundar rajan on Feb 02, 2010 11:39 PM  Permalink

To Hon\'ble Finance Minister:

Please increase S.80C deduction to Rs.5 lakhs, or atleast Rs.3 lakhs from the existing Rs.1 lakh, so that people\'s savings may go up.

Similarly S.80D deduction for medical insurance premia may be increased to Rs.35,000 from the existing Rs.15,000, so that people may take a family insurance plan.

Please also increase the DCRG amount to an amount without ceiling, subject to the existing calculation.

Please also make Earned Leave collected in leave account, payable or encashable per year. This will ensure that the rampant taking of leave by Government Servants is drastically reduced.

Wealth Tax limit may please be increased to atleast Rs.50 lakhs from the existing Rs.30 lakhs.

Sudha Sundar Rajan
