We have watched what you all did to India and our cultures over centuries and in other countries[read Persia]. No need to watch Peace TV. I would rather watch rakhi sawant's swayamvar. Atleast I can laugh innocuously.

Islamic banking system operates on a profit/loss basis and not merely on interest. Those who want to know about his can make their understanding corrected by reading articles from internet. Global banking behemoths like HSBC,Standard Chartered and CITI bank have already started islamic banking windows and other international banks are following them.

We have to understand that american banks collapsed early this year as they were operating purely on interests and they were bitten by the subprime bug. Now, the world realizes the importance of islamic banking as NONE of the islamic banks reported sub prime crisis or credit crunch.

Lets not point fingers each other on religion and look at this as a healthy banking trend in the offing. If it is a bad concept and used for funding terrorists, why then CITIBANK, the biggest american bank implements islamic banking?. Please give a liberal thought and dont paint it with religious colors.

People here have miss concept about Islamic banking, dont go by name, anybody can bank with Islamic bank. The concept of interest free banking is put forward by Islam and that is how it got this name.

Propet mohammad - Liberal thought for what? For killing indians? For wire-funding indian money to your men across borders? Islamic banking system thrive on others blood. Its shame to hear about the existence of this kind of bank itself. I know majority of mullahs who runs share business around me. Dont fool us.....

@JGN-Your point about the BCCI Bank is well taken. But Islamic banking arms of global giants like Citibank, HSBC, Stanchart, etc have been operating for many years in the Gulf and other muslim majority countries. What is the harm?? Moreover u must know that people like Muhammad Ali of Glfar and Yusuf Ali of Lulu employ over 55,000 Indians of all religions in their companies. With such people on the Board and the stake of the KIDC, the system has checks & balances. If not there are other banks for people to turn to.

Ankit,
Thanks for the mention. Good point. Its not that we are not affected. We do. Remember the news about collapse of ICICI because lehman bonds.

Indian system got escaped with minor injuries because we have a tight regulatory body and even these newly opened islamic banks will come under their surveillance. RBI rules are very stringent and no bank will be allowed to operate just like that. Thats why CITIBANK india reported profits where they report loss in US. But islamic banking system is well beyond this level of insulation also from collapsing. We can see evidently from the middle east market during the crisis. I hope you got me.

Dear agni,
Lending money to non deserving people alone was not the problem. Those sub-prime customers interest rates were much higher than the normal credit worthy prime customers. Due to this they were unable to pay and the whole sub-prime crisis started with this.
