Fake note at Mumbai Airport
by anand on Jun 27, 2009 08:41 PM  | Hide replies

Be careful at the Mumbai airport. I exchanged 100 euros in to Indian rupees and they gave me half genuine and half fake notes. I realized it only after reaching home. Take care while u convert money at the exchange.

You are opening up a hornets nest

by saying workers of currency dealers

are behind this or the currency dealers

themselves are involved.

In the interest to giving a proper

caution please name the Currency Dealer.

Fake note
by rajiv mehta on Jun 27, 2009 08:36 PM

As per direction from RBI a fake note is to be handed over to bank. Bank will destroy the note. I dont understand why we need to take it to bank then. Why cant we destroy it ourselves.

FAke currency problem
by rajiv mehta on Jun 27, 2009 08:23 PM

If a fake note is dispensed from an ATM machine and even if ordinary man identifies it as a fake note he can do nothing. If he hands over it to bank they will tear it. If he hands it over to police they will question him. It is a bad luck to get a fake note in India.

HOW ATM CAN ISSUE A FAKE NOTE? HOW AN ORDINARY MAN CAN FIND IT? AFTER GETTING THE NOTE FROM ATM, IF IT IS DETECTED AS FAKE NOTE, ONLY THE BANK IS RESPONSIBLE. IS THERE ANY IDENFITIFICATION ON THE NOTES DISPENSED BT ATM?

What action Govt. is taking on RBI officers who are responsible for such loose type safety and security norms. And how the individual can be compensated who even does not know how to check the technicalities of fake notes.

Suggestion to Overcome...
by ManojKumarRajain on Jun 27, 2009 10:21 AM

1. RBI should introduce a machine which take record all the currency notes on every day opening and closing by simply reading the serial no. of each note.

2. The Bank manager is set to be accountable to take record of all these currency notes on opening and closing of the day and maintain a record of the currency notes serial no. which were given to the teller and also putted in the ATM Machine.

3. A special remark which is unique for every branch and can only be erasble by banks is putted on the currency notes through the machine which also take record of currency serial numbers.

4. The fake note checker machine should be introduce on the big showrooms i.e. jewellery and other costly items, ticket counters, Hospital cash counters etc. on immediate basis.

5. With that proper awareness program of checking the fake currency should be organised in the general public on regular interval and on every change of currency, because if our people get fully aware about this then they help us by taking care of their hard core money more vigilantely which is our goal and ultimate target.

TAKE THE IN MIND ITS TOO MUCH AND NOW TIME TO ACTION OTHERWISE WE ACHIEVE GDP ONLY ON PAPER AND IMAGINATIONS AND THE DAY IS NOT FAR AWAY WHEN OUR ECONOMY DEMOLISH. SO PLEASE PLEASE DO THE ACTION FOR YOUR CHILD AND THEIR FORTHCOMING CHILDS.........
