Noble prize and India
by sanjeev on Sep 24, 2008 10:43 AM  Permalink

Success is not one way traffic. When time came to give something to scientist, they are taken as common govt. employee. when time to ask them u ask about international standard.
how fulish u are.
Science and scientist are most neglected kind in India. whether they are in ISRO, DRDO or in any research group.
Dont neglect scientist or science, if they neglect u nothing will remain in your hand.
Jai jawan, jai kisan Jai vigyan
A scientist

Nobel
by Dr. Souvik Adhikari on Sep 24, 2008 10:33 AM  Permalink

If you satisfy certain countries and the UN you win the Nobel: that is how it is adjudged these days. At least we are proud that Rabindranath Tagore spent his lifetime in India and was still able to win the Nobel prize in 1913. Cudos also to Mohd. Younis who did not have to spent his lifetime in the US like Amartya Sen to receive a Nobel.

I am waiting for the day when an Indian not just educated till under-graduate in India, but educated all the way in India , working in India wins a nobel prize. That will be a true reflection of our greatness. Until then all we can do is just be happy that a person of Indian origin is doing this and that.

understand your sentiment, but don’t agree. r u saying Nobel will is the parameter to gauge the greatness of Indians. If they are great they are. We don’t need certificates from the west.
