CHILDLESSNESS
by Latha divaker on Sep 11, 2014 10:00 AM

We JUST CANNOT SAY THE AUTHOR IS WRONG,BUT AT THE SAME TIME MOST OF THE MARRIAGES FAILING IS BECAUSE OF THE IDLENESS THE COUPLE HAVE AND THE DIFFERENCES DEVELOP SO MUCH THAT THEY GET SEPARATED.ONCE THE CHILD COMES ATLEAST 50% OF THE TIME YOU SPEND GOES TO THE CHILD AND THE DECESSIONS YOU ARRIVE IN UP BRINGING OF THE CHILD GETS YOU TOGETHER OTHER WISE YOUR LIFE WILL BE MECHANICAL,BORING AND FRUSTRATING.WE CAN REDUCE THE POPULATION BY HAVING ONLY ONE CHILD WITHIN NO TIME.

Having a kid
by Tiger on Sep 11, 2014 09:44 AM  | Hide replies

My childs birth is a real turning point in my life. I never knew if i can love anyone like this. I don't know how much happy i was. That feeling is something which can never be explained, people will know the intensity only if they experience it. I m no one to advocate anyone to have kids, Its their life. They should be the masters of it.

Having a kid is NOt a selfless act it is an Extremely selfsh act. You are bringing someone to an overpopulated world ( without their consent I would add) and will pressure him/ her most of her life so that they can take care of themselves, and you can wash your hands of them... if you wanted a child just adopt one, there are A LOT of unloved children across the world. and a newborn will NOT know the difference between their biological parents and adopted parents, BUT YOU will. Having your own child is the biggest act of egoism, someone to call your OWN flesh and blood.

Probably you can set an example. Do check adoption laws in our country. We are just low life forms, extremely selfish.

Torture at schools a reason left out
by yashodhan latkar on Sep 11, 2014 08:47 AM

To me another reason might be the amount of torture the schools are inflicting on parents. I am a parent and I know how difficult is it to deal with schools right from admissions. They make you beg every time literally.

Point 3 is the theme of the latest book by Dan Brown, Inferno.Yes we don't need more people, but having said that the love u get from your children is something u need to feel and can't be expressed in words. The risk of your kid turning away from you is like any other issue going awry which u may not able to prevent.Yes the only valid reason is affordability which can prevent you from having a kid

author must certainly be a woman
by on Sep 11, 2014 02:15 AM  | Hide replies

the name of the author of this unfortunate article is not visible. but certainly the author must be a woman. because such an immature and inexperienced thought and writing can only emanate from a psuedo liberated feminist. pity on rediff that it needs such articles.

NO it will be not, the earth's population doubled in the last 100 years. The human poulation has been arond for the last 2 millin years ( unless you believe in the Adam & Eve Story) 80 % of the worlds population do not have access to basic amenties, let alone take care of others.

Look at the Baby in this article..
by Suresh on Sep 11, 2014 01:16 AM  | Hide replies

Don't you feel like to pick her up, snuggle her, comfort her, sooth her, re-assure you are there, calm her down and make her smile.
Do that, and that is a satisfaction only a parent will know.

Yes, totally agree.. and when a kid adores her/his dad as their Hero, wow what a sense of satisfaction one gets.. that is amazing.. maybe, a set of people (might be 0.8% of this planet) will still feel the other way.. to not have a child..

To pick, snuggle, comfort etc.. will all make you satisfied. Think about the child. All the feeling and happiness is only about you and not the child. Can't be more selfish than this.

Wow...
by Suresh on Sep 11, 2014 01:09 AM  | Hide replies

I mean, i can accept people who just cannot stand the sight of kids, believe me kids can be pain, but all the other reasons.. come-on. Do you know the purpose of life (apart from the fact of achieving Motcha and Karma and stuff), its seeing your kids grow. No one can take vacation the moment they like. That train has passed. These days you have plan well in advance. And if still you want to take the vacation, take the kids and bunk them from school. So what?! You can't afford one is a thing that will change very soon. Soon education will be free and Dowry will be thing of past. Will they be there for me.. seriously...Parenting is a selfless act. I would save something extra and not depend on my kids, rather than not have them at all. Wow.. this is clearly written by some one who does not like kids, and just weaving reasons around it.

You feel this way because things are going alright. If you have cancer or heart attack and you are dying while s/he is growing up, then your view will be different. Similarly, if the daughter is harrassed/raped, it will break your heart like anything. That is not to say what you have written about the intensity of emotions and the joy you get are wrong. But they are only one side. I would like to see your comments after, say, 20 or 25 years. The more you love your child, the more your heart will break when undesirable things (not under your control) will happen, or if the child does not want to be close to you (wives can be very persuasive, and so can jobs in this global market).

Friend, there is Sunny Leone in every women. Its our culture that keeps it hidden. If there will be a day when there is no consequence for what you do, then Sunny is nothing. Its already happening all around you.
