INdian education may be good but the orientation and mental makeup of the students after they go through the courses in India leaves much to be desired. For higher levels of education and for independent original contributing research, you will need students who are not only good with reading and learning but also in applying their knowledge to situations. Another major handicap is communication at a higher level and thinking objectively. Well there are a lot of issues that needs to be addressed - not to mention the financial strains that the Indian universities face - that will sap out any little motivation that a student may have for higher goals.

Your second statement is true but not the first. How many Nobels have Madras and Calcutta produced? A total of one: C V Raman. In India we have not bothered about the quality of education at all.

Absolutely true. But that was in the past. Great scientists like JC Bose/ CV Raman/ Saha are from Univ of Calcutta/ Madras. Now Madras univ is one of the worst in india. Ofcourse univ of Bihar/Up/ Chatisgarh- are no 1 - in all malpractices in education!

No offence meant to you . Great indians became great in spite of ordinary education system available in India. CV Raman and Dr Chandrashekar became great scientists not exactly because of great education system in India. Some great teachers have been there in our system who went beyond what the university wanted them to teach and hence created some greats...

Rahul Gandhi secured admission in St Stephens College through sports quota... rifle shooting. He was literally thrown out of Cambridge for being below average student, so he migrated to a third rate American University to finish his higher studies.

Also His Girl friend was the mafia daughter and he was arrested at US airport for keeping 1.6 million USD in cash.
One of the congress worker daughter put rape charges on him and that entire family and reporter is now underground. No information about anyone.

INDIA IS BIGGER THAN UK IN ALL RESPECT . WHAT IS THE VALUE OF CAMBRIDGE BEFORE INDIANS , THE LOW GRADE STUDENTS WHO DO NOT GET SEATS IN INDIAN COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITY THEY GO TO CAMBRIDGE/ABROAD .
