Feel sorry

I pity all the people in this forum who have never set foot in Cambridge yet believe they are qualified to post their comments.

Richie : "If experience is what required for every profession/action (Refer your observation that 'who have never set foot in Cambridge ... qualified to post comments') then that will be the BEST SOLUTION for tackling our pressing problem of POPULATION."

Understand what I mean !!! Or else ask a Cambridge educated wiseacre !!

CAMBRIDGE IS KNOWN FOR ITS EDUCATION IN SCIENCES!
by Kabeer on Sep 09, 2011 04:11 PM

Cambridge is known for its qualitative education in Sciences while Oxford is known for its prowess in humanities.

The list clearly shows, why some of its alumni excelled in their later day pursuits.

By the way, Rajiv can not be counted as he never passed out of Cambridge unlike his illustrious grand father, Nehru.

Is it Cambridge ad?
by abhijit K on Sep 09, 2011 04:09 PM  | Hide replies

For basic education Cambridge is nothing but just like IIT/IIM of UK with only difference is that by paying hefty money anyone can get in. The focus of global research sits in North America.

what nonsense are you spouting?
well Oxford and Cambridge together have produced more than 120 Nobel prize-winners.. And many of the scientific breakthroughs were done here example discovery of electron, invention of the jet engine, the first computer to use stored programs, as well as the discoveries of stem cells, plate tectonics, pulsars and the structure of DNA and many many more...

Cambridge and Oxford have definitely not been good at commercialising their discoveries but that have made a huge contribution to mankind..

Another person who went near Cambridge
by Vishvaksenah E on Sep 09, 2011 03:53 PM  | Hide replies

A great lady went near Cambridge.
This lady is the prime mover of all things secular in India.

I just can understand the commonman, media and columnists. They are bothered about corruption, bomb blasts, flood water etc.

The most important thing to be discussed should be the health of our Hon.Chairperson of UPA.

I prayed to all the secular gods to bring back the Hon.Chairperson of UPA safe from which ever country she went to on August 2.
She is not a person to miss the parliamentary session. She is a great nationalist and wouldn't miss the independent day celebration. She is not a person who would run away from some silly agitation lead by some old man called Anna Hazare.
But she did.So it must be something very serious and she appeared only on the morning of the last day of monsoon session of the parliament.

Where was she? What was her ailment?
Has she fully recovered?
Has she got people to wash her linen?
Does she take the medicines regularly?
These are the most important things to be disussed in India. These topics are of international importance and I'm very sad that nobody is bothered about it.
