The clarity between Indians who live/work in India and those who live/work abroad is clearly seen in these suggestions posted by 'me'. Guys! I would suggest everyone who has a chance, to work abroad for sometime and then come back to India and you will appreciate everything.

We all, in general, usually
1. pose problems and do not suggest solutions.
2. come up with questions and rarely with answers.
3. copy ideas instead of coming up with original ideas.
4. follow rather than lead (methods, policies, procedures in almost every aspect of corporate and domestic lives)
and so on and so forth

And I found some posts in which people opined that they could probably start a company and work on their own. Its not a bad idea. But, then, you will have the same problems there with your employees. In general, the Indian mindset is very labile and meek - be it in dealing with terrorism or our own demostic problems

If you bring your ideas, people think you are trying to fault your boss. Solutions suggested are not accepted, coz the person who has execute the solution, does not want to put the same across to his boss.
All these good things do not work in India, where even managers who have the power to execute things - are only interested in keeping his boss happy.

Appraisal
A newly joined trainee engineer asks his boss "what is the meaning of appraisal?"

Boss: "Do you know the meaning of resignation? "

Trainee: "Yes I do"

Boss: "So let me make you understand what a appraisal is by comparing it with resignation"

Comparison study : Appraisal and Resignation

**********
In appraisal meeting they will speak only about your weakness, errors and failures.

In resignation meeting they will speak only about your strengths, past achievements and success.

**********
In appraisal you may need to cry and beg for even 10% hike.

In resignation you can easily demand (or get even without asking) more than 50-60% hike.

**********

During appraisal, they will deny promotion saying you didn't meet the expectation,
you don't have leadership qualities, and you had several drawbacks in our objective/goal.

During resignation, they will say you are the core member of team;
you are the vision of the company how can you go,
you have to take the project in shoulder and lead your juniors to success.

**********

There is 90% chance for not getting any significant incentives after appraisal.

There is 90% chance of getting immediate hike after you put the resignation.

**********

Trainee: "Yes boss enough, now I understood my future. For an appraisal I will have to resign ... !!!"
