What were the issues that the 'BJP communalists' raised? N Lost
by S S on May 26, 2009 02:24 PM  | Hide replies

The issue of the Kashmiri Hindous. Was that wrong?
Or demanding revocation of the POTA and stringent measures against terrorists?
Or the agitation for the Amarnath land and preservation of the unique world heritage and a symbol of faith like the Ram Sethu?
The nationalists opposed the divisive politics of Raj Thackeray, who was propped up by the Congress to counter the Shiv Sena. Was opposing Raj wrong?
They were responsible for Pokaran-II and were committed to preserve our rights for Pokaran-III if needed. Was that against the national interest?
On the eve of the polls they said forget 1984, but remember Gujarat. What mentality did it show?
The nationalists wanted Article 370 to go and Kashmir fully integrated with the rest of India. Was that against national integration?
Should India be governed on religious fragmentation and parochial chauvinism or on the basis of egalitarianism, equal rights and privileges to all rising above the communal lines?
Let everyone ponder -- Hindous have been continuously assaulted for the last 1,200 years. Do they have a right to preserve their heritage and way of life after a partitioned independence or not?

How does it matter if prices of vegetables and food grains have increased?
How does it matter if people are loosing jobs?
How does it matter if highways are being dug up?
How does it matter if even after renovation Delhi and Mumbai airport sucks?
How does it matter if in Delhi there is 2 hr power-cut daily?

Congress made the government. Jai ho.

1. Metro in Delhi....Delhi looks like Singapore with so many flyovers and neat and clean metro.

2. Flyovers in Mumbai.....Mumbai looks so great compared to rest of India in infratstructure with superb highways looking like freeways of USA....due to 10 yrs of continuous Congress rule

3. Bangalore elevated flyover and Metro project were personally inaugrated by the PM...once they are done B'lore will have an international look

4. International class airports in Hyd and Blr....also MUmbai and Delhi airports look international class now after modernization

During Cong rule of last 5 years, Indian infrastructure has galloped forward....look at the SEZs and the IT buildings, malls and supermarkets that have mushroomed...its Cong and not BJpeee that is responsible for tremendous Middle Class growth of India.

BJP’s six years rule changed the way people perceive central government. People realized their power of vote. People realized that Roads, clean drinking water and electricity are their basic rights and politicians or government should provide them these basic facilities. The realized that development is achieved only through competition, so FDI’s are not bad and nor Privatization is forbidden. People realized that ‘they’ are the nation and their aspiration of becoming strong was quite fulfilled in 1998. The Nuclear Bomb test gave them unique confidence that in case of war, we are quite capable of taking anyone squarely. The firmness, with which BJP leadership dealt with intruders in Kargil, left Pakistani military as well as political leadership searching for honorable exit. Of course, the initial intelligence failure should be investigated critically and harshly. Nonetheless, a strong military and political message is worth applause.

The infrastructure that BJP government built or rather tried to build is definitively a giant stride towards economic independence, which we sought for long time. The golden quadrangle project, whenever completed will certainly herald a new era of prosperity in wider parts of India. The tech sector boom was hallmark of BJP government. The decision of government to not to interfere in the tech boom was one of the best decisions of their tenure.

Even before full cabinet was formed in the centre such comments about the Government were uncalled for. Shenoy writes like a BJP spokesman. I expect the media and journalists to be more impartial and give the readers and viewers good account of what is happenning. Unfortunately most of the journalists in India seems to be hired by politicians to write.

why dont you see the writing on the wall? Why are you crying about TVR Shenoy? Are you paid agents of congress. It was BJP govt which brought about change in infrastructure develpopment. They started golden quadrilateral project. Congress took credit. It brought or unfortunately is at the helm of affairs now. We have to see whether they will take India out of the slump.
