New govt.
by akshaya deshpande on May 21, 2009 12:22 AM  | Hide replies

The Congress must not give in to any presures from DMK, NCP and from TMC. Bring in well educated, cultured, non-villagers to head all ministries. Pawar can at best be made Cricket Minister. DMK had constantly threatened UPA to withdraw support and had asked its ministers to resign, for LTTE/ Mamata may handle Railways but only if she forgets for ever any talk of CMP. Please, do not let Lalu even be seen in proximity of govt. A Railway Minister shamelessly spitting before camera, chewing paan, moving about in oily underwear, then talking how he earned money for govt. and finally acting trecherously against the UPA, the Congress and against the PM, must be taught a good lesson. He must be persuaded to go back and do what he knows best - looking after cattle. The cleanliness level in Railway toilets, in pantry cars, in food quality have been brought down to the level of cattle feed by Lalu. All because he is incapable of raising the standards. Away with Lalu.

Any Ministry is run by IAS officers not the Illiterate "Neta Ji", problem starts when "Neta Ji" starts interfering in the "babu's" (IAS officers)work in addition to being their usual self (eating money). Now what Laluwa did was to just keep eating money and not bothering too much about the work which resulted into better/no better railways.

then what's the point of government running it and monopolizing the industry for the profit of the babus and politicians. If govt. wants to run it as a monopoly then it must improve services for the commuters

obviously, lalu didn't make the changes, but he led the changes. that's what is expected of a leader

I disagree what you are saying, if he has not done this and as per your message it was done by some civil services officer, so dude where were they before Lalu joined as railway minister? why their mind not worked befor lalu came in power? so dude we have to respect what he did for railway, we have all seen reduction in railway fare in each year, all minsters only hiked the fare but Lalu proved that without increasing in fare the railway could be in profit to concentrate on other things.

HAng on, dont jump the gun yet.Its not profit per se but cash flows which emanated from huge depreciations on account of huge amont of CApex in earlier years. Now yes, Railways in India, being a monopoly services used by all have the potential to become a star or cash cow.It does not require much brain storming either, just plain common sense approach to running an organisation in a near monopoly environ(passenger or freight) profitably and with some good planning.
Nevertheless, Lalu and his coterie deserve kudos for media management and showcasing it as a miracle and also selling it across to planners and management gurus all over the globe as a unique achievement, which it certainly was not.
Just see the management of railways in country and you know how mismanaged it still is. But who cares? Media is always sold on stories which are gift wrapped and this weakness has been exploited by LAlu time and again.HAts off to him for atleasst knowing this trait in media and publicity hungry academicians.

We have X'stian moron called Samuel reddy who would lick Sonia's legs for keeping his CM ship. He already ensured all his detractors are eliminated in this election. So nobody will raise their voice even if we get only one ministership. Moreover, he does not want a second leader to rise in the state.

AB Vajpayee's achievement
by Srinath Reddy on May 21, 2009 12:04 AM  | Hide replies

Indira Gandhi led India to nuclear test in 1974 at Pokhran and made sure that Pakistan did not do such test. AB Vajpayee led India to nuclear test in 1998 and encouraged Pakistan to do such test. Now Pakistan has stockpiles of nuclear arsenal and has become a headache for the whole world especially India. I wish AB Vajpayee had acted more smartly and pressurised Pakistan to not conduct the nuclear test. All their stolen nuclear technology would have gone useless, had they not tested it then. Now AlQaeda and Taliban are close to acquiring these nuclear weapons, What could we do as a responsible country ?

i hate to repeat..
by Sirdard kiGoli on May 20, 2009 11:58 PM  | Hide replies

i am not getting proper answers to my posts..any constructive comments are welcome..

i am not basically against congress but..

in all this cacophony of who lost why, one important factor is forgotten is that whenever anti-congress votes are divided, congress does well..

the day anti-congress parties get together, congress loses..

when voting percentage is high, even then, congress is at a losing end..

even now, congress has not gained vote percent by more than 3 percent, but tally of seats has gone up significantly..

congress lost during morarji desai's time-janata party, during v.p.singh's time-janata dal and vajpayee's time-NDA because of this factor..

but, all other parties are trying to be congress under other name and there are so many netas among them that they would never sit together..

even if they are forced by someone (like jayprakash narayan) or by circumstances, they cannot remain together and fall out..

the day they get together, they will win..but they do not understand that they can get a small piece of the pie if they remain together and lose the whole if they try to get a larger piece..

jay ho anti-congress votes ki..

what you told is right.. In politics you should be like chanakya rather than shatriya.. you can win, by splitting the vote of oppositions..

eg..
Maharashtra - Anti congress votes are split by MNS..
Andhra Pradesh - Anti congress votes are split by Praja Rajyam Party (Chiranjeevi)
TN - Anti congress & DMK, votes are split by DMDK(Vijayakanth)..
Uttar Pradesh - Anti BJP, votes are directed towards Congress, instead of SP or BSP..
West Bengal - Avoided the split of Anti Communist vote by rightly having alliance with Mamata..

whether you like or not.. We have praise the politics of Congress..

@ white tiger

you are right..whether you like congress or not, they have done well to preserve their votes..

and once they win, MMS is our PM of this country and should be respected as such..

in the present circumstances, MMS is the best person to be the PM..

before results, i used to shudder at the thought of having someone like mayawati, jaylalitha, chandrababu, prakash karat, sharad pawar, mulayam, laloo or someone from third or fourth front beoming PM for even a few days..

that would have been disaster..

nothing against them, but they are regional leaders and not of national caliber..

so, it is better that they are washed out..
