Bye Bye PMK
by Vignesh Muthuvijayan on May 17, 2009 02:03 AM  | Hide replies

I am one happy lad to see PMK perish in these elections. Hope this would continue and PMK would lose its recognition as a political party. That would be new Deepavali for TN.

Good and bad about thiis win in TN
by Surya TheGreat on May 17, 2009 01:58 AM  | Hide replies

Good things
1. PMK has been wiped out in TN completely. PMK has been over-rated for years.
2. Cong got a stable govt. I hope they do some reforms as Narashimma Rao/ NDA did.
3. JJ has been cut to size. I hope she will change his approach towards people. I mean to say, be accessible to public,be among the public.

Bad things:
1. Money had a lot of say in this elections at least in TN.
2. People are happy if free color TVs, Gas Stoves, and Rice 1Kg/Re are given. A pretty sad precedent.
3. DMK first family, second family, and DMK men atrocities will be more in TN for next two years.
4. DMK always favors Gundas, they have been doing this past 3 years, this will reach unbelievable levels of gundaism in TN.

God save TN people.

To the contrary Jaya has singlehandedly won without Cong more than 12 seats which is an achievement. Admk has more seats than Sharad Pawar! and only a few less than SP or BSP- the so called powerful regional parties. So how is that a defeat? If at all PMK, Vaiko, Vijaykanth etc have been cut to size- not Jaya

Amma can still make it
by Anand Krish on May 17, 2009 01:53 AM  | Hide replies

She has 10 MP Seats against Karunanidhi's 18. Karuna will want atleast 6 ministerial berths including 3 cabinet - key portfolios.

Jaya can offer to Sonia - No need for any ministerial berths in centre and offer of Coalition govt. in Tamil Nadu with Congress having Deputy Cheif Minister.
in TN - 61 ADMK 31 Cong 18 PMK 6 MDMK = 116 - SIMPLE MAJORITY and with communists 16 MLAs they get abosolute majority.

Congress should accept this offer as after all it was DMK behind the sabotage and defeat of Congress candidates in TN. They did this mischeif to increase their bargaining power - with less congress seats DMK will be in better position.

The loss of 8 seats due to ADMK - DMK Swap (18-10) can be made up by Samajwadi party or Nitish Kumar or Biju .

Jaya's motive to make it to Delhi was to have a cabinet portfolio. She is not interested in being in the government to 'serve the people'.

So is Karunanidhi there to serve people- now he has 3 of his family in central govt and his son as future CM. No Indian politician is there to serve people and so no point in mocking Jaya alone!

Verdict: Do hell with Tamil Sentiments
by Manojit Sarkar on May 17, 2009 01:44 AM  | Hide replies

The reader of these sites agree or not, the electorate of all section has said "Do Hell with Tamil Sentiments" ...it is time to bring that long awating change of mixing with the rest of India and taking partin mainstream Indian social/ politial life by TN. Only taking part and eating the cream of the economic boom is not correct.

You are confusing Eelam sentiments with Tamil sentiments. If Tamils in TN are threatened (for eg, forcing Hindi), no national party will ever be able to win a seat in TN.

At the end of the day, people have to accept, there is one nation and one national language. What is so tough to adopt the national language, I fail to understand.

If India decides that one nation= one language then we will end like USSR or like Pakistan in 1971 and if India decides that one nation= one religion, then we will be come like Bosnia-Herzegovina.
India's strength is multicultural, multilinguistic democracy- let's not undermine that!

ofcourse you are misunderstanding. no one is saying impose Hindi at the cost of other languages. By the same extension that you give, if one wants to, he would, same will apply to accepting national anthem, national flag etc. There has to be a common language for all the people of India to understand. Hindi isn't my mother tongue as well, but adopting it makes integration that much easier.

elections rigged by gypsy brigade
by D S on May 17, 2009 01:43 AM  | Hide replies

you gypsy types never had sense for justice.

Gypsy types are good at forgery, fake/black magic, fraud, sorcery, etc. Chawla, MMS and Sonia come from that sort of background. Titles cannot hide it.

yes, they forged and rigged, it is in their genes and we have allowed these gypsy pain into the civilized world to give us more pain.
