Everyone is glad to come back to their family after a long visit to someone else’s house, even if the place they went was better than their own. If you feel most comfortable with your own family, it does nto mean that you think the family is perfect. You can still find many things wrong with it, disagree amongst yourselves, and even have serious fights within the family. One day you may even go away. But one thing is certain. Your language will always be understood best by your own family. It is they who will know exactly what you mean by the words you use, by the way you say them. No matter where you go or what you do, the place where you have grown up will always be your home, at least in your mind.
It is in this way that we, over a billion of us, belong to India. Not only because we were born here but because we are a part of what has been happening in this country for thousands of years. We may not always be aware of our Indianness. Even you do not know how Indian you are. What you are wearing may not be an Indian costume. What you speak or read may not be an Indian language but Indianness goes much deeper than clothes or g or living in India. It is in your mind and your blood, under your skin and in your memory. Even if you wanted to, you could not shake it off.

Nobody can destroy our Indian-ness. We all (irrespective of Re1igion) are the legacy holders of a civilization that goes back to nearly 5000 years. This land belongs to all of us.

Native red indians in US once remarked "When they(misionaries) came, they had the bible, we had our land. Now we have the bible. They have our land". This should not happen to India.

Mahony apologizes to plaintiffs in clergy sex abuse case
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Cardinal Roger Mahony, leader of the nation's largest Roman Catholic archdiocese, apologized Sunday to the hundreds of people who will get a share of a $660 million settlement over allegations of clergy sex abuse.
"There really is no way to go back and give them that innocence that was taken from them. ... The one thing I wish I could give the victims, I cannot," he said.
"Once again, I apologize to anyone who has been offended, who has been abused. ... It should not have happened and should not ever happen again."
Mahony said that he has met in the past 14 months with dozens of people alleging clergy abuse and that those meetings helped him understand the importance of a quick resolution to what he called a "terrible sin and crime."
