Laloo made history by bringing huge profits to sick railways with out burdening common man.If you judge people by their performance he is much better than any highly intelligent, educated high class people who do best for their community or relatives than general public.

you are wrong Manjunath. Whatever profits he gets from railway, it has totally burden on public only. i.e. he has increased cancellation charges. he has made 60-40 quota of normal and tatkal tickets. so 40% public pays double the fare. he has made agents legal. so one the very first day bookings open all the tickets will be booked by agents. so public has to go for tatkal. and can generate number of waiting tickets which results in cancellation. he has increased goods train fares. etc.. and its so long list...

Manjunath is it true? Please verify the fact. Tatkal system is really looting money from common man. See the difference between Reserved/unreserved fares. He is not increasing the fare but levying some other charges.

And most importantly he has such foolish admirers like you then why shud there be any doubt on how Lalu is fooling the public
1. Railways is not an Industry but Non-Profit making Organization, and if he said it had made profit, please tell me what has been done in these last 5 years by lalu for development of Railways
2.Lalu claims the price of Railway Tkts has not been increased in fact it has been decreased by 1 Re, do you know how the prices have been increased without any one even complaining abt it
3. Now Tatkal tickets are only issued from source to destination of the Train's route for ex if you want to travel from Delhi to Kanpur in a train going to Kolkata and you are not getting confirmed tkts and have to purchase tatkals tkt upto Kolkata and deboard where ever you feel like, Railway will charge u extra for the Tatkal tkt over and above the fare from delhi to kolkata
4. All passenger and slow train has been made super fast / express and a surcharge of Rs. 25/- has been added quietly, he has always been silent on this subject
5. He has introduced side middle berth on most of the trains leading to grave inconveninece to the passengers , this has been done in AC 3 tier coaches,
6.The no of berth in a coach has been increased to 82 from 63 making the area so cramped up and it is also very unsafe in the event if there is an accident
7.There has been no improvement on the schedule of the trains, even now trains run for more than 10-15 hrs behind

Then do not believe politicians and media.... Be smart Prof. by yourself... Your texts does not conclude any meaning..
Laluji is great he must become civil Aviation minister to save the aviation industry and ailing national carrier. Laluji can make Air India profitable as he did with Indian Railways.

Railways is for the majority middle class and families below poverty line, not for the elite who travel in airlines. If all trains are to be like metro the operational cost would be enormous and will not benefit villages and small towns.
Whatever you people will say he is a star and masses support him

dont comment unnecessarily and dont try to hide the facts. Laloo indeed a performer...
Well whatever development railways has shown in recent years is not because of the existing hon' Railways minister. The initiatives were taken by the minister who was there before you, its incidentially u become the minister of railway when the outcome of the initiatives has started to took place.in your simple bihari language i would like to say " Ki bhains ko chara kisi aur ne khilaya aur rabri malai lalu ji kha rahe hein "

During 15 years reign of him and his wife, both have tarnished the image of Bihar and Biharies out side from Bihar. However Bihar has been a very gloroius past.We should not forget Chankaya,Chandragupta Maurya,Ashoka,Shersah,Jaiprakash Narayan,Rajendra prasad,Mahavir,Guru govind singh and many other great personalaties who have born in Bihar. Rediffmail reader just judge your self where Laooo stands among these personalities.
Bihar has been very senstive and aware regarding political and social isuue, but due to MY (Muslim Yadav)factor of Laloo it has been degraded.Laloo has ruled all over bihar by breaking social harmony and co-0rdination.He must be booked under POTA or NSA

Bihar had been a very holy & tranquil place due to its association with Vishnu Pada-Padma (in Gaya) and Lord Buddha's place of attaining salvation . This is also a place of pilgrimage of jains because of its association with Lord Mahavir .This place was inhabited by very cultured people and even now tranquility of Rajgir, Pawapuri, Mandar Hills remind us of its glorious past . But due to too much political interference quality of people has come down and only politicians like Lalu Prasad should take the blame .Bihar is a fit place for World University in the model of Nalanda but no politician is ever bothered about it . I wish Bihar and its people regain its ancient glory by rejecting politicians like Lalu Prasad who are bringing the quality down
Political infidelity has reached a new high in Indian politics with the sole object of grabbing power through any means. With the prospects of the much publicised Third Front receding due to conflict of interests for the elusive top job, attempts are now afoot for a fourth front. The fore runner for this ill-conceived endeavour is the mercurial RJD supremo Lalu Yadav. He is now toying the idea of working with Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam party, which is a new outfit with no influence at all outside Andhra Pradesh (‘Chiru eyeing fourth format’, April 8). In the process Laalu has all but severed association with the Congress-led UPA alliance. Betrayal and opportunism are games played in Indian politics, and it would be no surprise if Lalu backtracks and aligns with UPA, post election. Lalu had proved to be quite successful as the Minister of Railways and should he be in contention for ministership in any formation, it should be ensured to keep him out of transport ministry. This is to prevent access to road rollers which he fancies to misuse to crush his political adversaries.
