In last 2 decades, we have had only 2 standing bowlers who have played for years - sreenath and kumble.
apart from that, nobody has been consistent. After couple of years everyone looses their touch, gets injuries becoming for life, pace drops, swing dissappears
and right next to us is pakistan having same wickets, etc. but still they have so many fast bowlers.... we keep struggling with developing one we find, currently, ishant sharma.
pakistan goes into streets, and picks up bowlers.. our coached and multi-level players dont have the talent or aren't being coached right?
We are the only country in the world where the captain of the national team is sitting 'cool and secured' with 9 consecutive overseas test defeats. I wonder if Bangladesh would have achieved this 'envious record' and persisted with the same captain. It seems, he is so good in letting things happen the way he wants to. He snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. He rotates his 'trusted players' around to make things happen the way he wants to. Very soon his 'trusted friend' R.P. Singh may come back in the team. Senior players and the so called experts will blame the umpires, the pitch, the weather, but not the skipper who converts a possible victory into a defeat like this. There is some evil intervention and the 'Voldermot cult' is controlling cricket.

what do you want him to do when we do not have enough good bowlers who can take even NZ wickets. By far he is the best we have and even if had gotten a new captain the result would have been same or worse..

michael clarke is also sitting 'cool and secured' with 9 consecutive overseas test defeats...how can you forget that?

so you see australia has achieved this 'envious record' and persisted with the same captain.

@vaidya, FYI australia won test match in SA and entire series against ENg. under clarke captaincy bcz he himself is performer not a useless batsman and our team is not even able to win a single match on entire tour of NZ-no.8 in world :)

FYI clarke is a home pitch bully and averages 65 runs in tests at home and 45 runs in tests away...
FYI dhoni has whitewashed clarke's side...an entire series win 4-0! ...:)
we dont have fast bowlers,spinners...medicore batsmen like R.Sharma...and super all rounder Sir Jadeja..who forgot on how to spin the ball.......how can we win test abroad.....

Wait till the don takes over ICC.he will ensure cricket is played only in India round the year to allow our greatest captain to remain winner in all formats.

Re: Re: Current team
by pradeep agarwal on Feb 17, 2014 08:51 PM
Do u know the countries against whom he won those 5 tests? Not one against top 5 test playing nations.
Re: Re: Re: Current team
by sunil vaidya on Feb 17, 2014 10:48 PM
yes i know dhoni will have to win against the top nations like zimbabwe bangladesh to better ganguly as a captain...
Re: Re: Re: Current team
by sunil vaidya on Feb 17, 2014 10:51 PM

Hey fake vaidya, I have never seen anybody go so low and hijack others name and post.. get a life dude..
Guys, this is a request. Whether u abide by it or not is ur choice. I can't force u. But stop watching India play cricket be it in India or abroad. Most importantly stop watching IPL matches. They r a sheer waste of money and time. I stopped watching cricket three years back. Cricket in India has become a money spinning business and cricketers here are a pampered lot. When the chips are down, they bribe and win matches so that again the spectators come and watch them play. And once they pull the crowd or people get swayed b y these cricketers, they revert to their old self playing for selfish gains. I know that people young and old even buy tickets in black to watch these guys play. What Indian cricketers are doing is simply minting money at the cost of the foolish (I am sorry for being rude) spectators. And these people are from all walks of life and of diff. age groups. If they really want to spend money, they can give it to charity or the thousands of homeless people. Don't waste ur money on these selfish fellows.

I dont think the new generation is not so much excited about Cricket. All most every day there is a Cricket match. The players play as a daily routine without any special attachment to the game. If not in national team, IPL is there to make money, so why to bother.
How can a spinner go wicket less on day four of the match?he was bowling negative from round the wicket & trying to stop the runs. The captain kept on calling him by glorified names that he hardly deserves. He actually should have been given a boot on this back with instructions to bowl over the wicket & slow to let ball spin with close in fielders to take the edges. The unfortunate part is that we have a captain who has no clue on how to attack?

Pradeep, I agree with you in toto. Captain 'Cool' now needs a kick where it hurts most. Secondly, with the forthcoming resignation of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy (self-styled ex-cricketer) may be he should be appointed Captain. Almost anyone can do a better job than Dhoni. Col NA Ansari, Hyd
