ROTFLMAO.... He has lost even more tests abroad than Pataudi. Lost 10 of the last 11 tests abroad. I think if he carries on this way (losing to #8 team etc), he will reach 30 defeats easily.

Worst Dropped Catch
by Wilcox on Feb 17, 2014 06:08 PM  | Hide replies

The worst dropped catch in the history of test cricket was by the prodigal son of Indian cricket - Ravi Shastri.

He had dropped Graham Gooch of England at 36, and Gooch went on to make his career best 333 not out in the match.

Hope Dhoni does not break this world record in cricket. :-)

The captain escapist
by pradeep agarwal on Feb 17, 2014 06:05 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni should be given a boot after what has happened in this match.Any captain who allows such comic mistakes that he made in field placing & negative bowling tactics calls for his head. This learning business from low ranked teams needs to be scrapped right away & really irritating.

what Dhoni can do if bowlers cannot take even NZ wickets. We desparately need bowlers and I blame board for not doing enough..He is the best we have
got..

Of the current crop Dhoni is the best.. with the number of cups that we won is the proof.. What it proves it that if we have decent players he will win us all.. Of all the captains that we have so far he is the best..With same sub standard players he won us all the cups that is the proof of his captainship.. I cannot imagine people say Saurav when we lost so many finals under him..

Difference in Class between Dhoni and Ganguly

Even Sourav Ganguly did not have world class Fast bowlers in his side. But he with his aggression and mastermind made India a real good test team. Even kumble was a very good test captain. But sorry to say that Dhoni is a worthless TEST captain. Probably the worst after Azhar...

Hopeless Indian bowling!
by Abhishek Kulkarni on Feb 17, 2014 05:21 PM  | Hide replies

Dear All,
We are clearly missing the point here. I agree with the fact that one catch was dropped and a play went on to make 200 and turned the match around. The point here is the Indian bowling over the last five years has become absolutely hopeless and sadly talentless. After ZK ( i sadly say he is nearing the end of his career), there has just been no bowler of substance in the Indian team. IS is not a bowler. Period. All our other bowlers are total rookies and nowhere near world class bowlers like DS and MJ. I have been studying the Indian bowling since many years and have observed that they just bowl straight, plain straight! That's all they can do! No variety, no line, no movement! Except for BK no one in the Indian team gets any kinda movement! We should groom more bowlers to be genuinely fast bowlers? Can't we find bowlers in this vast country who can consistently bowl at 140 kmph? Someone like MJ?

Guys look at the way the Aussies crushed the SAcans. SA are an equally talented team but look at the way they just crushed them! I am totally impressed by the aggressiveness displayed by the ruthless Australians! An entire overhaul of or bowling department is needed! Otherwise with talentless performances like these, cricket in India will become like cricket in WI. Lesser and lesser people will become bowlers - everyone will wanna be a batsman - good for other sports though - especially hockey!

You can get all the kind of bowlers you want but then you want a non scheming captain! Pray tell me what was the great cricketing sense in going into a test with just four bowlers, especially when zak is prone to injuries. What was achieved by taking Rohit in place of a bowler? Lastly look at Aussies whenever they won the toss, irrespective of the pitch, they always bat first and use the fourth and fifth day pitch to their advantage. You have a captain, who has his own rationale defying logic and a BCCI which is in a hurry to parade the players all round the world without sufficient practice matches and result is for every one to see!

Brightly positive, resurrection of winner's attitude in their mind & action to follow would lead to sustain the height achieved / as from the view regaining interest in test cricket prospect , the nz captain should declare as soon as possible or else if he fails in overcoming highest total from their former players & throw up a challenge for an enterprising competitiveness ,having a regressive attitude than aggressive now inspite of being in an advantageous position will lead to doom against other upcoming top teams @ Alok Suryashyamkarn "The One

If this catch would have dropped by someone else then it would be big issue. But since is has been dropped by Srini's laadla Dhoni it is a part of game. Dhoni is worst in keeping, average in batting , downhill with captaincy and huge ego and arrogancy. He should be shown the door with respect to captaincy. High time BCCI. Save team india.

Eagerly waiting for eng and aus tours where dhoni will become first captain ever of world to lose 20test matches away in just 4years. WC2015 will be the nail in coFFIn and thn Indian cricket will get r!d of this useless flattrack batsman and poLITi(ian captain who didnt play even 10good innings OVERSEAS against quality bowlers till date and in asia too he played only 4-5good innings UNDERPRESSURE when others didnt set a platform for him, else he has played only when team is in good condition, others hv set a strong platform and opposition bowling is weak. In int t20 too he is a biG fl0p n cudnt score even a single half century and has pathetic SR.

Lets hope that this uSEless playER will be kiCKED out after WC and that day will be a great day in history of Indiam Cricket.

He did his part by counter attacking and scoring decently. He primary job is wicket keeping and captaining which he is good at, but he does not have sharp bowlers who can take wickets what can he do, he is trying all he could. Yes he lost 10, but you can take out the first 5 as the so called seniors were
retiring and could not score much. Even Pointing could not do anything once the greats retired from their team..

The result will be same even if you get anybody else.. we need solid bowlers who are sharp and take wickets like the way Zak did in the world cup.. whenever we were in trouble he pulled us out, but now you see the current crop, just now brains at all..
