Too much importance
by Ashish Singh on Mar 24, 2013 09:20 PM  | Hide replies

I think too much importance is being given to Sachin. In this present team and looking to its form,Sachin has no place in the side, infact he is a burden & a NPA. His fielding along with Ishant & Ashwin's is a joke,it becomes difficult to hide them in the field. It is high time that Sachin goes, as he has scored hardly 350 runs in the 10 domestic tests played against NZ,England & Australia @ an average below 30.

Were Lara or Sobers or Richards ever dropped?

Were Imran Khan, Zaheer Abbas, Miandad,or Wasim Akram ever dropped?

Were DonBradman, Shane Warne, Dennis Lillee or Allan Border ever dropped?

Were SunilGavaskar, GundappaViswanath, KapilDev or Pataudi ever dropped?

Was IanBotham ever dropped?

Was AndyFlower ever dropped?

Were Arjuna Ranatunga or Aravinda D'silva ever dropped?

If NO, why should Sachin be dropped?

The legend is awefully out of form for the last 1.5 years and at the age of 40 he's not going anywhere from year.. Even the patience of his most adrent fan must be running out. Hopefully, he would listen to his heart and retire from all forms of Cricket (including the galli cricket called IPL).. Tour of SA is light years ahead considering his age/form..

We watch cricket for fun and everyone should get an opportunity.....we are cheating other young players who want to come and play and we can see their new talent....

What a partisan statement. "All times" that means he is above Sobers or Bradman. No way, he may be the best for the current generation, although there are several detractors to that theory.

When a player is in form and retires, people ask "WHY" and if he does not people ask "WHY NOT". Our greatest batsman Vijay Merchant always used to say the same. But ther are SHAMELESS players who would like to earn money either in cricket or even by Ads. Since once he retires no adving co. shall ask for him. as it is NO PRODUCT IS SOLD ON SOMEBODY'S FACE in advt. It is need of the hour that he himself retires now or else he has to go like Sehwag and Gambhir.
He should learn from Dravid and Laxman and give chance to youngsters.

Records have zero value after a limit that is what this person is doing....degrading the value of records in batting, bowling, fielding, number of matches, retiring and coming back etc....it is cheating other young players....

Let Tendulkar play till he wants. Take it India is playing with 10 players like it happens in Football. That will be biggest tribute to this genius.

Sachin needs a great challenge not retirement
by Talisman on Mar 24, 2013 08:55 PM  | Hide replies

Teams that play india in Tests don't fear Dhoni or Kholi will destroy them. They never will.

However, if they cannot breath easy until they get Sachin and Sewag's wicket when they are batting. That my friends is the difference when you play top teams oversees.

Sachin is this Indian test team's leader and even in the world cup that we won, it is sachin that carried india on his back like an Atlas. Remember the Pakistan game? Dhoni's expertise is never in test cricket and never will be.
