Problem in India is that everyone who even knows how to hold a bat or knows how to roll his shoulder is a cricket critic...they have their opinions and thats final...as if they won the world cup for India in criticism...Do your job people...let them play...

Flat Pirches - whats the prob?
by trader on Mar 01, 2012 04:14 PM  | Hide replies

Every country and every region of the world has its own speciality in pitches and all are different. Why we should blame Indian subcontinent pitches a s flat pitches just because whites dont get it how to play here!!Laughable stuff!! also why we should call Sachin as "Little Master" instead of "Master",just because whites call him so to hide their inferiority complex against him?Napolean was 5 foot tall but no one ever called him "Little Napolean"!!

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!! Is that the reason why Australia and SouthAfrica make a mincemeat of India everytime in India or atleast give Indians a tough run for their money whereas Indians are whitewashed in their countries?!!

Selection Process in Indian Cricket
by Gopal Krishnan on Mar 01, 2012 04:10 PM

It is better to have two Indian Teams say A Team and B team which will satisfy the BCCI and the rest. A team will play with stronger team( ie as per ICC Ranking) with option of Home and abroad. B team will play with the rest of the team with option of Home and abroad

Were you a sportsman?
by Meraj Ahmed on Mar 01, 2012 04:07 PM  | Hide replies

It is indeed painful to see Srikant the way he has behaved over the years as a Chief Selector. He himself is a sportsman but behaved like a politician while selecting the team. Always interested in looking for an opportunity where somebody from tamilnadu can be fitted in the team. Innumerable chances have been given to Sehwag inspite of his regular failure? why? Why he has not considered Jaffer inspite of his scoring so heavily in the domestic cricket. Jaffer has been performing consistently well yet Mr. M. Vijay has always been given preference over him? What great Rohit sharma and Raina has done that he is continuing with them? Why can't a fair chace can be given to Pujara, tiwari? why he has closed his eyes over a few players and has considered their career as close? how can you expect a person who is a chief selector to use the language which he has used yesterday? It was shocking when he said "shut-up" and uttered those "ungly" word. Mr. Shrikant we were really expecting an honest approach from a sportsman but what has been happening is shameful.. to say the least.

When Sunil Gvaskar had dropped the great Kapil Dev after he played a rash shot - which was supposed to be one of the cause for India losing to England(in 1984), he had the guts to say that a man of the calibre of Kapil Dev has been "dropped". Sehwag is no Kapil Dev(he has literally thrown his wicket 9 out of 10 times)and it is time to discipline him/make him more accountable. And its time that Krish Srikanth(who himself was never a great cricketer) should have the courage to admit that, indeed, Sehwag has been dropped. TRANSPARENCY is the key word - and today's selectors - being paid to do their job should be accountable to themselves and to a cricket crazy country. No second thought to it.

Sehwag & Gambir - Deserved Punishment
by km vb on Mar 01, 2012 04:04 PM

it appears that selectors and BCCI gave deserved punishment to sehwag and gambir. For making unnecessary comments by Sehwag and Gambir during the TRI series, dropping sehwag and also giving vice captaincy to virat ahead of or overlooking gambir is rightly made decision that will make some of those think oversmart to set themselves disciplined.
