Sachin should retire
by MANI IYER on Feb 22, 2012 11:46 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin has just 90 runs in all the ODIs played in Australia. The Board should give him 10 bonus runs making a total of 100, which should be allowed to be added to his century records asa century so that he can gracefullyh retire and give his place to other youngsters in the waiting. Or the Board should host Kenya for a test match enabling him to take his 100th century.

Why Kenya?

Do you play gully cricket? If you do, you can score a century in a gully match and post it here. We will make a petition to ICC that your gully century be added to Sachin's tally of centuries.

If you don't even play gully cricket, keep quiet. FYI, majority of the people who bash Sachin don't have the physique to even play gully cricket. They put their tongues out like dawgs if they run for a minute.

Reading the comments below is hilarious stuff! Sorry guys, we love punter too, but the selectors made the right call and the curtin will fall on Sachin soon as well. Forget the 100 100's, the man is a legend and he should walk away with his head held high. I, too, agree with Kapil, he's slowing down and the faster bowlers are starting to catch him on the crease, watch Ricky Ponting next time he bats and you'll soon be watching Sachin, on the way out he is.

Tendulkar should quit
by koushik rajagopalan on Feb 22, 2012 11:27 AM  | Hide replies

He doesn't fit into any international cricket. He is only player in this world cricket to play for his personal records. Just take an example of Glenn Mcgrath. He was a brilliant bowler even when he retired. Thats why he was a match winner. Unlike tendulkar whenever he hits a century India will lose. Dont blame others. He is the most selfish player in this world cricket

Ask other indian players
Sachin likes India to win
he wanted India to win world cup in South Africa
we came to Finals ,but Australia scored 350 against India
India could not chase the total against quality aussie attack - Mcgrath ,lee etc
but Sachin struck crucial knocks quater finals vs pak (see the tapes)and semi finals
----
Last time India came to Australia Sachin scored well in Final 1 and Finals 2 and got us the Trophy as well
-------
even now SACHIN feels bad if gets out early ,he feels even more if India lose the game ?

who told you or how you think Sachin plays for records ?
it just a MYTH and not true at all

Sachin is a true PATRIOTIC indian at heart

atleast apprecaite his contribution to the game

there are 10 other players
--
some 2 million us dollars man from IPL
---
what happened to poor indian bowling attack?

suddenly all else is out of discussion ?

---
why does opposition teams target specifically SACHIN TENDULAR
when he gets out ,they celebrate wildly and cherish the wicket ?

have u seen opposition teams celebarte some jadeja ,dhonis or ashwin wicket like they do with SACHIN?
so why do u think they target SACHIN and plan specifically?and not others in the team

@rama:
Fair points in there, that's what a good cricket team will do, target the key players. On a side note, how is Jadeja worth 1.5 million in IPL? I haven't seen anything special about the guy to warrant that much money?

@rectify the fault lines in bowling and batting - not Sachins
by rama anne on Feb 22, 2012 11:23 AM

Fisrst of all - INDIA lost two games at Gabba due to poor indian bowling
---
Lack of application in batting especially
- 2 million us dollars man - ravindra jadeja
projected all rounder Ashiwn
projected wicket keeper cum Batsmen - called Parthiv patel
---
after Rania and Kohli made 86 runs partnership platform is well set to take Game closer to target
======================
but indian batsmen bowled out in 46th over
indian bowlers gave too many runs - 288/6 and 289/5

so why blame Sachin?
why everytime India loses matches debate about Sachins retirement ?

why not debate poor and inconsistent Indian bowling attack?

why not debate poor indian batting from 3rd down onwards

in Australia batting line up - one of the Hussey brothers will always score
in Sri Lankan batting lineup - angelo mathews,Chandamal ,thirana striked well and scored close to 40s and 50s

so difference is very clear ?
but people want to debate Sachins age ,his retirement ? etc

so what will we acheieve by doing so ?

rectify indian bowling attack?
rectify batting down the order ?

@Shame Shame Indian Bowling - 288/6 ,289/5 runs scored
by rama anne on Feb 22, 2012 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

Srilanka Bowlers
====
Slinga Malinga bowled better yesterday
so did Angelo Mathews
Perrera
so did Mahroof against India
-------
Compared that Indian bowlers did not bowl well
even new Sri Lankan batsmen like Thirana ,Chandamal milked runs ,apart from Sangakara and Mahela
===================================
so if 4-5 Sri Lankan batsmen could strike rate at above or near 100 percent against indian bowling attack

then David warner ,hussey brothers ,Clarke etc will be salviating ,they will strike at 150 strike rate ,if Indian bowlers bowl the same way at Hobart and Sydney ?

so correct the bowling ,either get opposition out or restrict runs
Indian bowlers did neither at Gabba in the last two matches

if Indian bowlers allow - Australia or Srilanka to make scores like 289 ,290 etc

then Indian batting while chasing will falter ,as both Aussie bowlers and Sri Lankan bowlers are bowling much better and to a well studied plan to restrict Indian batsmen or get them out early
---
analyse fully you will get the picture

Sachin playing the game has nothing to do with both the losses
----
2 million us dollars for some 7th down Jadeja
it is a false economical price and looks very funny to me
IPL is not helping the real cricket talent ,it is just rotating some well heeled rich indian actors and industrialists without a purpose and direction

@INDIAN BOWLING poor in last 2 games so far
by rama anne on Feb 22, 2012 10:57 AM

Last two matches
----
india vs australia at Brisbane
Australia made 288/5 against India
---
Srilanka vs INDIA at brisbane
Srilanka batted first and made 289/6
=====================================
Even some new srilankan batsmen like Thirana,Chandamal scored well against India

Both the matches that INDIA LOST
BETWEEN 40th over to 50Th over

Australia scored above 65 RUNS in the last 6 overs - that is almost 11 runs per over
------------
same way SRILANKAN batsmen scored between 40th over and 50 overs some 70 runs

a health 10 plus runs per over
=====================

so what does it tell you ?

INDIAN BOWLING IS POOR ,not only they gave runs but only took some 6 wickets against Australia
some 5 wickets against Sri Lanka

so Gameplan of Inidan bowling is bad ,they just completed 50 overs ,neither restricted runs or made attempts to bowl out the opposition

so 288 and 289 to chase for India at Gabba is always a pressure cooker siutation if there is no good start

also Sri Lankans bowled better ,so did Aussies too
much better than Indian bowlers
----
so why cry foul about Sachins retirement when you cannot even bowl out the opposition ?

just a balme game and cry foul on SACHIN
jealosu and focus lacking and will not change the results at all

@what about bowling - 289 to chase ,also before 290 plus
by rama anne on Feb 22, 2012 10:46 AM

OK tell me some names - If SACHIN will retire ODIs as of now ,who will take his place ?
-----
For Ricky Ponting place - australia has many names - Osman Kawaja ,every player from every single state,jones (NSW) - Wa ,TAS,VIC etc

so Australia has in place solid structures with players competing for places

Australia has quality bowlers - Starc ,siddle ,johnson(mitchell),Ryan Harris ,pattinson etc

they have many options - for example David Hussey can bat at any position - first down to 4th or 6th position

David Warner a 20/20 player could succeed well against India because
simply put INDIAN BOWLING is devoid of full quality (sometimes Zaheer bowls ,sometimes Yadav bowls ,a long time ago Ishant bowled well)

show me when all Indian bowlers together bowled well in the current test series
Yadav,Zaheer ,and Ishant ?

so Australia has quality bowling unit while Indias bowling unit is lacking

so that is why all Hussey brothers ,david warner to even Mahela ,sangakarra,thirana ,chandamal etc are all milking runs

I mean 289 runs to chase at GABBA ,comeon SRILANKA batted well against some poor Indian bowling attack

look at how much they scored in the 40-50 overs
srilankans and aussies scored above 70-80 runs against a bad indian bowling attack

chasing a 289 runs under lights ,will build pressure (run rate required)
while Sri Lankan bowling and aussie bowling are much better than Indian bowling attack

that is the fact
