Quite a good selection. Yuvraj has a non-malignant tumour in his lung, so let him get well, his health is important. Harbhajan is out of form. Pujara is just returning to the game after an injury break, so there is no point selecting him. He needs to get match fit, and he is a good future prospect. The younger players have been selected on domestic form, which is the right thing to do. Saha is a strange selection, considering Parthiv Patel has done reasonably well given the chances. But if Saha's glove work is good, then it is ok. The Gilchrist effect, where teams are expecting the keeper to blaze away is unfair. Gilly was a one off.

culture and gene cannot be changed until consigned to flame. Surprising how BCCI was tolerating and accommodating them. Pawar effect?
and fame..Bhajji is now discard and she will discard him soon..as far as SRT, this Fraud or so called fake God never plays when it is required like second innings..he only plays for records..disgusting..he has never delived when mattered the most. Someone in media needs to expose this overhyped player of all times..when it comes to performing in crunch situation he is complete flopstar

By the way Mr. Manish what is ur achievement ? If getting 99 International Centuries & Most no of Man of the Match Awards amounts to failure - so be it - its a nice failure to have. Finally God of Cricket does not need any certificate from useless guys like you who are good for nothing and try to comment on the greats of all time - you are nothing but a frustrated failure

His achievements are nothing and even if he wants he would not be able achieve anything, so he takes out his frustration on Sachin.

Rest assured SRT will be in indian team till BCCI exist and he completes his 100th Test Century which is a dream even in Australian tour.
Series is completed after a nile biting finish. Now let we talk about tendulkar. Legend bradman test average is 99 great Tendulkars centuries are 99 One is retired. Other is struggling to get three figure mark. These both legend and great leave as it as 99 or great will hit 100. we have to wait and see
Best thing to have happened to the Indian cricket is that baji was dropped... he was a dead weight banking on his past glory... he neither was lethal or was containing the runs... a 3 or 4 here and there once in a series proves that he is past his prime.... he is not even fit for ranji matches where he couldn't take more than 2 wickets in the 3 matches he bowled... how is he going to take on the mighty aussies on their backyard... the final nail on his coffin was the 100 by ashwin... baji is no more a cricketer....
unfortunate for baji, geeta basra is splitting with him.... :):):)

in Indian pitch, cat looks like elephant.their real test will be in Australia. inexperienced ashwin and in&out ojha may not fit in the fast pitch of australia. Vajji is way ahead in that area.

Think again. If chance is not given how they can prove themselves in Australia? Bhajji was also new once upon a time.

first of all, i would really like to congratulate the selectors for choosing such a balanced side for the Australian tour. The side has the perfect balance of youth and experiance. While on one hand, we have Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Ishant & Dhoni who have the prior experiance of playing in Australia, we also have talented youngsters like Kohli, Rohit,Rahane, Ashwin,Ojha, Aaron & Yadav who are also in very good form. So, i really think that this indian team will really play well in Australia & could get success in both the test & ODI series. BEST OF LUCK.

This is probably the best Indian team to tour Australia. And with Australia running through a rebuilding phase, India has the best change to win a series there.
Those saying Harbhajan not in form should think again. If a player is repeatedly demoralised just because he is a Singh what performance can he give. Ranji Trophy pitches hardly support bowlers. Ranji Trophy is just for batsment to prove their skills.Legends like Harbhajan cannot show their greatness in low interest matches like Ranji. Harbhajan has always performed when going gets tough for India. Shame on those selectors who are humiliating talented Harbhajan again and again. India will lose badly in Australia. Ashwin & Ojha will flop in Australia.

There is something seriously wrong with Harbhajan's bowling. He needs to look at it and take corrective steps. How he reacts will show his mettle. About 10 years ago Kumble was in a similar position. He was being sidelined with Ganguly preferring Harbhajan, and he came back in style during the 2003-04 Australia tour to become India's no. 1 spinner. Let's see if Harbhajan does the same. That said Harbhajan has struggled in his 2 tours of Australia
