No reserve WK. So many spinners. Inconsistent batsmen like Yuvraj, Tendulkar, Dhoni. A weak bowling option of Munaf Patel and an injury prone Zaheer Khan under the subcontinental pitches. But who cares about Irfan Pathan or Parthiv Patel or that matter Sreesanth. Still bite your nails when it matters and cheer India, India. Only this much we can do!

sorry its not a good combination. nehra & yuvraj is not played well instead of them Rohit & Sreesanth is good option wait & see

who are you Mr. Rex? ashamed to hear you that you are a malayalee. You are Not good for anything, good for only criticizing the only player (Sreesanth)who has brought kerala into the limelight of indian cricket. I am proud of you Sreesanth. Its only because of Dhonis politics that you were not allowed to play in ODI and thus out of team inspite of being the best fast bowler for India on SA tour.
Reward Laxman by giving him the opportunity to play in WC. We have many attacking batsmen like Sehwag, Tendulkar, Yousuf, Yuvraj etc., who on their day can single handedly win the game for India. But when the chips are down and the team's back is up against the wall who would you depend on ? Laxman or Dhoni ?

Laxman is basically a Test player. He does not have a single ODI where he alone has helped India win, though he has done thing so many times in Tests. He is definitely one of the all-time greats. But it is not necessary that all great players can play all formats.

Glad you agree he is a great player. He has expressed a desire to play in WC. Agree his one day record is not great, but then again, he has not been given as many opportunities as a Dhoni, or Raina or Murali, Surely he deserves more than them and still has it in him to come up with a special knock in any format. Look at his strike/scoring rate in tests

Why don't u think & speak. Look at the current ODI series with SA. Kohli is the only youngster who is firing. The rest like Raina, Sharma, etc r flops. A team has 2 b picked on merit. Youngsters won us the T20 World Cup; but that is history now. And this is 50 over cricket, not T20.
Ohja is an ordinary bowler. Just 20 wickets from 15 matches. Compare to Ashwin who has picked up 14 wickets from just 7 matches. Which is a good start.

Just with one match munaf was included in world cup. Sreesanth was intensionally not played in ODI in SA just coz to keep him out of world cup squad. If he performs well then a question will arise why he is not taken so didnt pick him in 11. Shame on you Dhoni & Srikanth for playing such a cheap politics in Indian cricket and denying chance to deserving guys.
I dont agree with the author saying carrying an extra wk is a liability, if not a full fledged wk at least a part time wk like Robin Utthappa should be in the team what if Dhoni develops a niggle, he has to keep wickets in spite of that. We have one bowler too many Indian team usually goes in with 4 front line bowler, so I guess we have a spinner extra with so many spin all rounders in the team.

Dhoni is the liability in the team. He does not merit selection on his batting performance of late. His wicket keeping is not any better than Patel or Karthik to merit selection over them. His captaincy has been unimaginative and defensive. You cannot win the world cup with a defensive captain. Gambhir merits as much, if not more as a captain.
on 19th February.. India needs to give clear and louder message that... India is roaring in WC 2011... We all Indian fans are behind them... let us all forget the differences and wish the best of Luck to Team India...
