Too much
by Special Correspondent on Mar 12, 2010 02:01 PM  | Hide replies

I used to admire Modi and still do to some extent but I have now realised that he projects things as bigger than they actually are.

I am not surprised no one accepted his base price for the new IPL teams.

It is not base price that people didn't accept Sir. It is The eligiblity criteria! Why do you people write what ever you want with out knowing?

No one rejected the base price, In fact the base price is atleast 4 times higher than last time which shows how much popularity cricket has gained

B h a i y a j i , the base price is unrealistic. Just because Modi said 225 m USD is the base price does not mean people will accept it. Businessmen are not fools

Would you like to elaborate on the c r a p that you are speaking?

What eligibility? Modi rejected the bids because they were too low

Did you see the Economic Times? It said that IPL found "no takers"

He is one of the money orianted person and he wants to kill Cricket, T20 is all about power hitting it need not want technique. where as all other that he mentioned are not fully money orianted(NFL,EPL, NBA) they are very strong since from the grass root level

How can it kill cricket when every format is different ? It's only going to get more people interested in the game. People who like Test matches will watch it no matter what.

It's tough to believe that ICL started the 20-20 funda with a good cause for exploring good cricketers but with NON-Coperation movement by this guys the ICL is history now... its tragic to see the real ideas got dead in a country like us... this people should be ashamed of...

Are you joking ? ICL is one of the worst cricket leagues. They even gave away thousands of free tickets and nobody turned up to watch.
ICL has no star power which IPL has in plenty. It's the only thing which will make people watch it on TV.

Anyway, this guy has really got guts. Next he will say that IPL will become bigger than World Cup Football, Grandslam Tennis events, Golf.... Anyway, because India's population huge and lot of our own population only are watching this game, he feels that cricket has got audience. Remember, it is a game played by 9 countries, out of which West Indies is in terminal decline (they are nowadays losing even to Zimbabwe in one-dayers) Bangladesh is below our Ranji standards and we do not play Pakistan. That leaves just 5 opponents for us and we talk as if its a global game. As I said above, hahahahahaha, it is a good joke......!
