Anand is a great sportsperson too but honestly he doesnt have the same attachment that Sachin has with hundreds of millions of common Indians , How many Indians have seen Anand playing chess games? Not many i bet , but almost eveyrone in India has seen Sachin scoring runs and make India proud and made Indians happy . It is this attachment with common man that makes sachin special

Chess is brain game and is very difficult for average man to relate to. Moreover there is very little personal involvement possible in chess. But that doesn't in any way reduces the greatness of Vishwanathan Anand.

This game played by handful of ex-British colonies and their colonials themselves, no one give a damn about this pathetic game of, by and for the losers. One can be obese, unfit and be suffering from angina and still play this game. OTH, chess is truly international and Anand has made India proud by his consistent performing at the higest level, a feat rare in such feirce competition. If Anand does not deserve Bharat Ratna than no Indian does.

Anand is shooting out of his mouth. If HE want Bharat Ratna than SAY SO. There is no need to beat around the bush by saying "Sachin ....get....Ratna... Idiots......Why don't these idiots see in the past WHO and WHY they were given BRatna. Cricket is a stupid,time wasting sports, played by Idiots by ONLY few countries. It is NOT in Asian Games,Olympics. Looks like Sachin is OLD and going to retire, so he want this highest award, which he doesn't deserve. He knows after retirement he will not get any award. So get it while the sun is shining.

In Indian history, Maharajas used to do 'Ashwamegh Yadyna' & get consent of other rajas consent for his status. This matter is somewhat like that. = One Maharaja accepting graetness of other.

Yeah I do agree.It may be so.Taht why it is just personal record.Personal amass of wealth.Nothing more than that.
Cricket is played in just 8/9 countries.It is not a world wide sport.Not included in Olympic/Asiad/common wealth games.And awarding Bharat Ratna should be made to one who made contributions/welfare to the game.What Sachin has contributed to the game of cricket/or to spread amd development of cricket as for as people of India is concerned? The tickets are so high even for one day games/20-20 games that a common man can not go thinking of going to see it.He himself as creatd crores of rupees and set personal records.So for personal records if BR is to be awarded,then Vishy too deserve the it.

yes ICC has 105 members currently . Some fools think that just because only 10 nations play test cricket , cricket is a 10 sports country . Some countries like Netherlands have been playing in cricket world cup past 15 years but havent been awarded test status.

Can you name atleast 20 countries out of 105 countries?and by just becoming members is of no use.In 2010 Asiad who won the medal? can you name it? And by the way any time Sachin had been to thses so called 105 countries for develpoment/spread of cricket?

May be has more pride and does not want to number one among losers. What use is that if you are 1st or 2nd among 8. It is far better to do something worthwhile, where competition is for real.

where can i find excepts of your exploits or Kabeer's exploits ? I am very excited to know that there are 2 incredible individuals on this forum that find comming 1st in a competition supposedly played by 8 nations doesn't account for anything
