champions trophy 2009
by sachin on Sep 29, 2009 11:21 AM  | Hide replies

seems it is the end of the road for india in this tournament. because australia are sure to beat pakistan and top the group with 5 points. pakistan has already qualified for the SF with 4 points.moreover pakistan will see that india does not reach the SF and may purposely lose their inconsequential match with the aussies.

Pakistan has every right to do so by purposely losing the match. After all India banned Pakistani players to participate in IPL and eliminated them from Champions League...Now it's Pakistan's turn to teach some sour lesson

Ind-pak rivalry should not become hatered.
in fact foriegn minsters are also showing dignity whiile talking.
lets enjoy it as sports.
if pak win good, if it loses then india's bad performance which has resulted in elimination.

Self Respect

I think it would be better if AUS beat PAK otherwise everybody say that pakistan helped india to reach semis. We indians can't hear that.

I think Pak will try hard to win this match. My logic.
- It will possibly avoid meeting Aus in finals (which is tough to beat).
- It will boost their moral for next stage

I don't think they are helping India in any case. Because just beating Aus doesn't ensure India a semi final berth!

It dosent matter if pakistan helps us by winning or loosing. If you want to be the best you have to gain it from your own performance. Pakistan will choose whats best for them.
this format of the game requires that the team which is consistantly good will win. Hence if india cannot qualify it deserves it.

NZ's NRR is already lower than SL, so if they lose, it shall be even lower.

I think NZ can still lose the match by 1 run or 1 ball to qualify for the semis. Becoz the nrr of NZ is -0.13 is after playing only 2 matches, which will decrease after 3 matches.
