The real value of both these players will emerge if someone can calculate the number of runs scored by each for a winning cause. I believe that Ponting will emerge as the better player if this is done.

Winning cause ehh ... I would love to see the stats where in the team won even after ponting failed versus Indian team winning after sachin's failure. You are all path_etic excuse for being termed a human being. Seriously, you want to nitpick to this extent ? Few Weeks ago, mo_rons like you barked that Sachin doesn't score in FINALS. When it has been proven wrong, you mo_rons have stooped down to this ? Whats with THIS Stu_pid Path_etic community called " INDIANS" who like to pull their won kind down and suck the D__KS of non indians ?

because there is no community left as Indians now. Raj Thackeray destroyed that. Now it is all North, South, East and West. I favor North, and North only.
I am happy to see that atleast achievers like tendulkar get their dues from sportsmen from other countries. In the recent past as seen from various fronts what Sachin gets is only curses from his countrymen.
It is nice to see people like Ponting egging the faces of such people.

so what you are saying is that , even after Sachin Scores India loses . Yeah we all know that, the team is filled with losers like yourself

While the likes of Ponting take admiration from Sachin, we are trying to find faults with this great player. This shows the culture of India who cant appreciate their own people and ready to admire any outsider. Ponting and Sachin both are great players but the kind of support Ponting got from the strong team represented was never with Sachin.

Compare his stats with ponting's - they are almost identical. In fact ponting has played better innings when it really mattered - like WC final. Sachin scored more runs simply because he played more matches. Otherwise he is just one among many notable players of his era. He is no ordinary and he is no Bradman.

WC FINAL ? so the bowlers conceding 350 plus runs is forgivable, but Sachin's failure in trying to match that against the best bowling team is not ? Wow Simply WOW
Tendulkar has a great number of records to his credit, but as a captain was a waste. Ponting on the other hand has a lot of wins to his credit both as a captain and as a player.

Are we comparing captaincy skills here? And Sachin is one person who understood his weak point and came out of captaincy. In Indian Scenario no one could ask him to step down had he continued as Captain
strip him of his arrogance and spitefulness onfield, he's great batsmen, who probably will beat tendulkar's tally of centuries in test matches. tendulkar is far ahead in overall stats, but ponting is close to tendulkar in ODI stats.
The egoistic Ponting has calmed down a bit over the few months after losing badly in all tournaments which is what is helping him gain form and winning ways for OZ. Now he seems to be talking good for others that too an indian, which is unsual of him.
