There is no comparison with Sachin
by Talisman on Oct 03, 2009 11:27 PM

Ponting has played in one of the gifted teams for over a decade.

Compared to this, Sachin had to play with collegues that have panic attack whenever there is pressure.

Sachin scored his runs playign against the best possible attack of his times. Ponting cannot say that he faced a bowling attack that consistantly matched with Australia's bowling machine.

Stylewise, there is no comparison. sachin stands supreme.

Ponting does have more medals and that is due in part to the great team that he played with and after all cricket is a team game.

The best puller
by vikas nair on Oct 03, 2009 09:06 PM  | Hide replies

Ricky Ponting is undoubtedly the best Puller in cricket. His drawback is that it takes him a while to settle down before he can unleash his shots. That is the reason Ponting will never be a 20twenty player.Sachin scores over Ponting in this regard.

Really think it comes down to when Ricky and Sachin retire.

Think Ricky would play on till is 38 odd and Sachin I think will play on till 39 odd in tests for sure. But also feel the difference in ODI 100's and runs is too vast for Ricky to catch up. While in Tests he is capable of beating Sachin in runs and 100s.. but that is dependent on the team he has... before he had the Hayden's and Langer's to put the opposition on the back foot and he could ease his way to a 100. While the past year he has had more pressure on him and he has not coverated many starts into 100s.

India doesn't play Tests like Australia. For example India has played only 3 Tests this year the lowest by any Test playing nation. In 20 years Sachin has played only 156 Tests .If India had plays Tests with as much frequency as Australia then Tendulkar would have been staring with say 60 Test centuries and 18000 odd runs in Test cricket. In all of the 1990s India played very few Tests when Sachin was at his peak.

What happens when…

Illiter_ates get hold of computer and Internet? The result is there everyone to see on this board, which is filled with non__sense comments by these illiter__ates. By illiter__ates I mean and I quote from Gita, “Illiter__ates are those who have no control over their minds”. A person can get any amount of knowledge but he/she will remain illiterate as long as he/she let his mind wander.

The moment these illiter__ates see any articles related Sachin, they come out their caves like Hye__nas come out after smelling a wounded Lion.
Sachin is no ordinary person but the greatest in his field and perfect human being He is my role model because it rare to find a person—I mean in any field—who is not affected by success and wealth. Again, it is described in Gita, Greatest is one who is not affected by success and wealth.

Nevertheless, I could also find good posters, although a few in numbers, and I enjoyed reading their comments. My request to these posters is that it is futile to debate or try to rectify these Hye_nas. Have ever seen a lion ki_ing a Hya_na? Answer is BIG No.

Ponting
by Arpit Amin on Oct 03, 2009 07:51 PM  | Hide replies

Dicky Ponting wants to play cricket until he breaks Tendulkar's records. Ponting's got everything now so what's left for him to prove. He is a good batsmen, he's got 3 world cups, what else left??? Whatever Ponting is trying to do is for only breaking records. On the other hand, Sachin wants to win a world cup for india that's why he says he will play till 2011.

why don't he retire now instead of carrying on for more years to break Tendulkar's records. Sachin needs a World Cup and Dicky Ponting has nothing more to prove.

get lost m0r0n. Cricket is a team's game not only 1-man game. Mostly all the games sachin has scored the rest of the players were non-performers. Go and check stats m0r0n. Especially in the 1990's and early 2000's it was only Sachin performing for India and others were non-performers.
