Lalit Modi & BCCI rsponsible for the mess up.
by Subimal Ghosh on Mar 23, 2009 05:42 PM

Parliament election was due any time between April-May was known to every Indian in this country exceting perhaps Lalit Modi and his hench men in BCCI. They should have consulted Central Govt. about it much before Election Commission anounced the election date.
Like many reach person, Lalit & BCCI might have thought their reachness is enough reason to wait other activity in this Country. For them, nothing is important against their whims.

We need to face realities and accept it wisely
by sachin nagdive on Mar 23, 2009 05:42 PM

Every one knows IPL is more than a game. Its entertainment. Lots of money..Then what bcz of money only we manage to survive. Otherwise what happen to other games?
We always fill proud calling India a big country with huge potential to lead world
I think we (most of) all love Cricket and so as IPL
We all know IPL can be only held between April and May
We all know election is the prime important activity for all Indian and so as the govt.
Being an Indian. Can we answer some question wisely?
Can’t Govt provide security to both Events?
Whether Govt does not wann take chance? If yes.Why.Whats reason?
IPL is going out...No worries…but what kind of impression we want to give?
Its not question between Congress and BJP. Its question of being a proud Indian
I think govt. indirectly want to say you all Indian are bhagavan barose.Becasue government is not capable enough to provide enough security to its citizen. Which is basic right of the people of India?

BCCI deserves all these kicks in the back
by Ashwin Ramaswamy on Mar 23, 2009 05:41 PM

A money and power hungry, arrogant and selfish BCCI deserves this thoroughly . great job Chiddu ! BCCI has been ill-treating ICL players for long and even hesitated to invite Kapil Dev for a felicitation ceremony . Kapil was ultimately invited but the incident speaks volumes about the attitude of the BCCI . Why were they in such a blind rush to fix IPL dates before looking at Parliamentary election dates ? and we cricket fans have no problems in IPL shifted to England as we can still see it in TV

Mr. PC- Bund se gayi woh Hauj se nhi aati
by Vinal Gandhi on Mar 23, 2009 05:34 PM  | Hide replies

Mr. PC, no matter what you say now isn't going to help India. By refusing security to a tournament which was being hosted by India itself, you have shown to the world that you have weak knees. No matter what you try in putting blames on others, India's image has taken a seious beating and that's what matters more then your pitiful self.

by Rosy on Mar 23, 2009 05:32 PM

As far i know, if IPL will happen in INDIA, then a lot of people will get job, from a ordinary rickshawabala to hotel. even beggers will also benefit.

Centre ? tax collection

will it improve our GDP ? Answer - yes

**********
We have one of the largest military in the world despite that we can't organise a tournament parallel to Election.

while for a election rally hundereds of paramilitary force can be supplied.

In the name of safety security is provided to MP/MLA/Cndidates etc...

It looks something odd na ?

Actually it is unfortunate that the IPL leaders are on ego clash and they give importants to earn money than the nation's priority activities like election. the ministry only wanted them to postpone the matches to another date. all those who are sensible can understand what is going on in this fake issue.

IPL is a business. not a national pride.

Election is more important to a nation.(you know the meaning only when you are under dictatorship)

While scheduling and conducting election is the world biggest electoral exercise. Priority is most.

While huge money(IPL is nothing when compared) is spent on election. Govt need to take care of that and people.

Just because cricket is out of country, we don't loose anything. If at all that happens, that will be short term.

What disgusting is painting political color on cricket.
